The IC-M411 vhf marine transceiver s desgned and bult wth Icom's state of the art technology and craftsmanshp. Wth proper care, ths transcever should provde you wth years of trouble-free operaton. We want to take a couple of moments of your tme to thank you for makng the IC-M411 your rado of choce, and hope you agree wth Icom's phlosophy of "technology first. " Many hours of research and development went nto the desgn of your IC-M411. IMPORTANT READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS carefully and completely before usng the transcever. Push [ENT] and try steps t to u agan. 5 6 D MMSI code check The 9-dgt MMSI (DSC self ID) code can be checked. to dsplay the 9-dgt MMSI (DSC P self ID) code. · The MMSI code s dsplayed and scrolls at the channel comment ndcator. · When no MMSI code s programmed, "NO MMSI" appears and warnng alarm sounds. t Input the specfied MMSI code by pushng [Y] or [Z]. · Push [CH·DUAL] or [16·C] to move the cursor forward or backward, respectvely. Scrolls y After nputtng the 9-dgt MMSI code, push [ENT]. · "CONFIRMATION" scrolls at the channel comment ndcator. Scrolls 13 6 DSC OPERATION n DSC address ID A total of 100 DSC address IDs (9-dgt) can be programmed and named wth up to 10 characters. t Push [Y] or [Z] to set up to a 10-character ID name. · Push [CH·DUAL] or [16·C] to move the cursor forward or backward, respectvely. · Push [CLR] to cancel and ext the condton. D Programming Address ID q Push [MENU] to enter the DSC menu. w Push [Y] or [Z] to select "ADDRESS, " push [ENT]. y Push [ENT] to program and returns to the normal operaton. e Push [Y] or [Z] to select "ADD INDV ID, " push [ENT]. Scrolls r Push [Y] or [Z] to select the desred ID name for deletng and push [ENT]. · "READY" appears. t Push [ENT] to delete the selected group ID and returns to the normal operaton. 16 DSC OPERATION 6 n Position and time programming A dstress call should nclude the shp's poston and tme data. If no GPS s connected, your poston and UTC (Unversal Tme Coordnated) tme should be nput manually. w Push [s] or [t] to select "POSITION INPUT, " and push [ENT]. r After settng the longtude data, push [ENT] to set the current UTC tme usng [s] or [t]. · Push [CH·DUAL] or [16·C] to move the cursor forward or backward, respectvely. · Push [CLR] to cancel and ext the condton. 6 Scrolls e The poston nformaton appears. After settng the lattude data, push [ENT] to set your longtude data. · Push [CH·DUAL] or [16·C] to move the cursor forward or backward, respectvely. · Push [s] or [t] to edt N; North lattude or S; South lattude when the cursor s on the `N' or `S' poston, and W; West longtude or E; East longtude when the cursor s on the `W' or `E' poston. · Push [CLR] to cancel and ext the condton. t Push [ENT] to program and returns to the normal operaton. [. . . ] 53, carefully cut a hole nto the nstrument panel (or wherever you plan to mount the transcever. ) w Slde the transcever through the hole as shown below. r Tghten the end bolts on the clamps (rotate clockwse) so that the clamps press frmly aganst the nsde of the nstrument control panel. t Tghten the lockng nuts (rotate counterclockwse) so that the transcever s securely mounted n poston as below. y Connect the antenna and power cable, then return the nstrument control panel to ts orgnal place.
