Dstress call recepton should stop after one sequence snce the coast staton should send back an `acknowledgement' to the shp. If the dstress call contnues even the coast staton send back an `acknowledgement, ' the shp n dstress may not be recevng the call. In such cases, you should contact the coast staton va the phone and send back an `acknowledgement' on behalf of the coast staton f the coast staton requres. q Push [MENU] to enter the DSC menu, then rotate [SELECTOR] to select "Distress ACK, " push [ENT].
· "Distress ACK" s added to the DSC menu after recevng a dstress call.

There are two ways to transmt the dstress relay call-- "DROBOSE (Dstress Relay On Behalf Of Someone Else)" and "Dstress Relay Call wth Dstress Call Log". DO NOT push [DISTRESS] to transmt a dstress relay call; t s used for the own dstress call. To transmit the distress relay call with "DROBOSE": You may transmt a dstress relay call when a shp n dstress s n a poston where the dstress call cannot be transmtted, or when you find a shp n dstress and a quck help s needed.
