SURVEILLANCE KEY Push to turn the survellance functon ON or OFF. When ths functon s turned ON, the beep s not emtted and the LCD backlght does not lght when a sgnal s receved or a key s pushed, etc. TX CODE ENTER KEY (PMR operaton only) Push to enter the TX code edt mode drectly. Therefore "01234" and "56789" are the same. 2 1. 1. 2 1. 3 1. 4 1. 5 1. 6 Channel selection Several types of channel selectons are avalable. NON-ZONE TYPE: Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred operatng channel, n sequence; or, push one of [MR-CH 1] to [MR-CH 4] keys to select a channel drectly. ZONE TYPE: Push [Zone], then push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred zone. Scannng stops when recevng a call. KEY NUMBER 0 5 1 6 2 7 3 8 4 9 e When the "PASSWORD" ndcaton does not clear after nputtng 4 dgts, the nput code number may be ncorrect. Turn the power off and start over n ths case. 7 2 BASIC OPERATION Call procedure When your system employs tone sgnalng (excludng CTCSS and DTCS), a call procedure may be necessary pror to voce transmsson. The tone sgnallng employed may be a selectve callng system whch allows you to call specfic staton(s) only and prevents unwanted statons from contactng you. q Select the desred TX code channel, 2/5-tone code accordng to your System Operator's nstructons. · Ths may not be necessary dependng on programmng. · Refer to pages 9­10 for selecton. Receiving and transmitting Receiving: q Push and hold [ ] for 1 sec. e When recevng a call, rotate [VOL] to adjust the audo output level to a comfortable lstenng level. NOTE: Dependng on the pre-settng, the transcever automatcally transmts the mcrophone audo for the specfied tme perod* when a matched RX code sgnal s receved. · HM-148G or HM-152 hand microphone s requred. Ask your dealer for detals. w Push [Call] (assgned to one of the dealer programmable keys). e After transmttng, the remander of your communcaton can be carred out n the normal fashon. Selective calling Non-selective calling Transmitting: Wat for the channel to become clear to avod nterference. q Take the mcrophone off hook. · The `audble' condton s selected. · A prorty channel may be selected automatcally. w Wat for the channel to become clear. · The channel s busy when BUSY ndcator appears on the LCD. e Whle pushng and holdng [PTT], speak nto the mcrophone at your normal voce level. Hold the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 nches) from your mouth, then speak nto the mcrophone at a normal voce level. 8 BASIC OPERATION D Transmitting notes D TX code channel selection 2 1. 1. 2 1. 3 1. 4 1. 5 1. 6 · Transmit inhibit function The transcever has several nhbt functons whch restrct transmsson under the followng condtons: - The channel s n mute condton (`Inaudble' condton; " " (Audble ndcator) does not appear. ) - The channel s busy. - Un-matched (or matched) CTCSS s receved. (Dependng on the pre-settng) If the transcever has [TX Code CH Select] assgned to t, the ndcaton can be toggled between the operatng channel number (or name) and TX code channel number (or name). When the TX code channel number (or name) s dsplayed, [CH Up] or [CH Down] selects the TX code channel.
