[. . . ] The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must always been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-stroke engine oil. It is important to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained. When mixing small amounts of fuel, even small inaccuracies can drastically affect the ratio of the mixture. Fuel and fuel fumes are highly inflammable and can cause serious injury when inhaled or allowed to come in contact with the skin. For this reason observe caution when handling fuel and make sure there is adequate ventilation. Fueling • ! WARNING!Taking the following precautions, will lessen the risk of fire: Do not smoke or place hot objects near fuel. Always stop the engine and let it cool for a few minutes before refuelling. When refuelling, open the fuel cap slowly so that any excess pressure is released gently. Always move the machine away from the refuelling area before starting. • • Do not mix more than one month’s supply of fuel at a time. If the machine is not used for some time the fuel tank should be emptied and cleaned. Be aware of the fire hazard, especially when working near flammable substances and/or vapours. • • Clean the area around the fuel cap. Ensure that the fuel is well mixed by shaking the container before filling the tank. ! 22 – English STARTING AND STOPPING Check before starting Starting and stopping • Check the blade to ensure that no cracks have formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole. The most common reason why cracks are formed is that sharp corners have been formed at the bottom of the teeth while sharpening or that the blade has been used with dull teeth. The complete clutch cover and shaft must be fitted before the machine is started, otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injury. Always move the machine away from the refuelling area before starting. Ensure the cutting attachment cannot come into contact with any object. Make sure no unauthorised persons are in the working area, otherwise there is a risk of serious personal injury. The safety distance is 15 metres. • Check that the support flange is not cracked due to fatigue or due to being tightened too much. Discard the support flange if it is cracked. Cold engine Ignition: Set the stop switch to the start position. Choke: Set the choke control in the choke position. • Ensure the locking nut has not lost its captive force. [. . . ] Noise pressure at the user’s ear and vibration on the handles are measured with all the machine’s approved cutting equipment fitted. The table indicates the highest and lowest values. 36 – English TECHNICAL DATA Approved accessories 240R, 240F Centre hole in blades/cutters, Ø 20 mm Grass blade/grass cutter Saw blade Plastic blades Trimmer head Support cup Type Output shaft thread M12 Multi 255-3 (Ø 255 3 teeth) Multi 275-4 (Ø 275 4 teeth) Multi 300-3 (Ø 300 3 teeth) Maxi XS 200-22 (Ø 200 22 teeth) Tricut Ø 300 mm Trimmy S Trimmy S II Auto 55 Fixed With ball bearing 502 26 34-01 502 26 34-01 502 26 34-01 502 27 22-01 503 91 60-01 / 502 26 34-01 503 91 60-01 503 91 60-01 503 91 60-01 Cutting attachment guard, Art. no.
