This booklet provides important guidelines for safe use, installation, maintenance and some useful advice for best results when using your machine. Keep all documentation in a safe place for future reference or for any future owners. Check that no damage has occurred to the machine during transit. [. . . ] This function has been specifically designed for people with delicate and sensitive skin, for whom even a very small amount of detergent can cause irritation or allergy. You are advised to also use this function for children's clothing and for delicate fabrics in general, or when washing garments made of towelling, where the fibres tend to absorb a greater quantity of detergent. To ensure the best performance for your wash, this function is always activated on the Delicates and Woollens programs. Temperature Selector The washing machine is equipped with a Temperature Selector knob to set the temperature you require. Greater energy savings can be achieved by setting the temperature between and 40°C. By selecting the position, the wash temperature is equivalent to the water inlet temperature, thus reducing energy consumption further. We recommend that the temperature shown on wash care garments should never be exceeded. In the case where the temperature has been accidentally set higher than that of the chosen programme, (see Programme Guide table), the machine will lower the temperature automatically to protect the fabrics. 18 40004724. qxd 26/10/2006 12:13 Page 19 Drying Selector The Hoover Sensor Washer Dryer gives many options for drying the laundry to suit all circumstances. The table below lists the programmes and the function of each programme. For tumble drying select the appropriate drying programme via the Programme Selector. For drying cotton fabrics select the High Dry option and for synthetic fabrics select the Low Dry option. Turn the drying time selector until the indicator aligns with the drying programme or desired time. Note: If the drying time is selected before the wash cycle is completed the machine will automatically commence the drying programme. Refer to the Programme Guide to identify which drying programme will be automatically selected after the wash programme. To protect your laundry certain programmes (eg Silk) cannot be followed automatically by a drying programme. The drying time can be reduced at any time during the cycle but cannot be increased. Note: For small loads (less than 1kg) or for partially dry loads it is advisable to use the 30 minute drying programme. Your washer dryer automatically concludes the drying programme when the load is dry or the set time is reached. For the dryer to operate correctly of it is preferable not to interrupt the drying phase if not really necessary.
