The following table shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in this instruction manual. 1: Cleaning chisel connection ends The chuck is not incorporated in the machine's lubrication system. The connection ends of chisels and other tools must therefore be cleaned regularly and lubricated sparingly with Hilti grease. 3: Side handle Adjust the side handle as desired and lock it in position. 4 5 Starting time at low temperatures: The starting time (until hammering action operates) can be reduced by jolting the chisel once against the working surface as the machine is switched on. Fig. 5: Constant on For constant on operation, keep depressed the trigger switch and press additionelly the locking botton to the right. To stop the constant on operation, press the locking botton to the left. 6: Positioning the chisel blade Turn the switch to the symbol «0». Turn the chisel blade to the desired working position and lock it by switching to the chiseling symbol . 7: Regulating the hammering power Set the TE 505 at the symbol « larger hammer 100%» hammering power or at symbol « smaller hammer 50%» hammering power, position the blade firmly on the work surface and chisel. Pointed and norrow-flat chisels Reforge the chisel at about 1652°F to 823°F (900°C to 1000°C) very bright redbright yellowish red). Afterwards, quench in oil Forging and quenching the chisel in this way is all that is required. [. . . ] Wide-flat chisel As the cross-section of a worn wide-flat chisel is not sufficient for reforging, these chisels should not be reforged but only resharpened (ground). The blade is long enough to be resharpened several times. Regrinding: Pointed chisel Flat chisel Wide flat chisel 3 Servicing: Fig. When the indicator lights up, the machine should be serviced by Hilti. [. . . ]
