Make a note of this data in your operating instructions and always refer to it when making an enquiry to your Hilti representative or service department. Screw battery compartment cover back, making sure thread is engaged to ensure complete closure to maintain dust and water protection. 5. 2 Switching the range meter on and off The range meter is switched on or off by pressing the "On / Off" key. After being switched on, the range meter is in the basic display mode. 5. 2. 1 Initial distance measurement Press the "Measure" key once. This will switch on the range meter and the laser beam if the range meter was switched off. If the range meter is already switched on, this will activate the laser beam. You have taken the first distance measurement with the PD4 laser range meter.
