SERIES [SPC] soft key to open the SERIES OF MEASUREMENTS menu, and then press the MEAS. The sample counter x y/z counter is shown on the left side of the message line e. g. x is the number of the measurement that is currently being performed for the current sample, y is the number of measurements that have been recorded so far, and z is the total number of measurements that has been entered. I. 64 SPC has been started ND 287 57 I ­ 5 Series of Measurements and Statistical Process Control I ­ 6 Sorting and Tolerance Checking I ­ 6 Sorting and Tolerance Checking Sorting function To sort the parts, the ND 287 compares the displayed value with an upper or lower sorting limit, and displays the sorting result in color as a display value and with the appropriate sorting symbol in the status display: Green symbol: = Values that are displayed in green are within the sorting limits. Red symbol: < or > Values that are displayed in red are smaller than the defined lower sorting limit or greater than the defined upper sorting limit. At the same time, the sorting result is transmitted via two switching outputs (pins 17 and 18) at connection X41 (see "Switching outputs at D-sub connection X41" on page 96). Pin 17 becomes active if the displayed value is smaller than the lower sorting limit. Pin 18 becomes active if the displayed value is greater than the upper sorting limit. The sorting and tolerance checking mode sorts the display value into one of the three following classes: Within tolerance Above tolerance Below tolerance This means that the sorting limits correspond to the tolerance limits of SPC. In the SORTING field, press the ON/OFF soft key to activate or deactivate the sorting and tolerance checking mode. Press the RED, GREEN/[DISPL. BLUE] soft key to select the color of the display value in the sorting and tolerance checking mode. Use the numeric keys to enter the lower sorting limit in the LOWER LIMIT field. If all sorting and tolerance checking symbols light up, the upper sorting limit is smaller than the lower sorting limit.
