[. . . ] Traffic Information Indicates which RDS stations provide traffic information. EON (Enhanced Other Network) If your broadcasting station is using EON, you will also hear traffic flashes of other programmes, when the Traffic Information function is enabled. Clock Auto Adjustment Automatic time setting and synchronizing the clock (if enabled). v Connecting the unit The unit is designed to operate from a mains supply of 230 V, 50/60 Hz i. When the set is connected for the first time or after a power failure (without standby batteries fitted), the display flashes to indicate that the clock and, if necessary, the alarm time(s) should be set. We recommend that the batteries are replaced approximately once a year. · If the clock radio is to be disconnected for a long period, the standby batteries should be removed, otherwise they may discharge too quickly and may leak. Reset button · If, due to external interferences (caused by static charges of carpets, thunderstorms, etc. ), the control electronics of your Sonoclock 610 should receive bad information signals, or if no entries at all are possible, press the RESET button. ­ For pushing this button, it is best to use a bent-up paper clip. The stored data for the individual station memory positions, the clock settings and the Last Station Memory are cleared. Note on Environmental Protection Do not throw exhausted batteries in the household refuse. Hand over the old batteries to your dealer or public collecting points when buying new ones. 11 SC610 page 12 CLOCK SETTING Setting the clock automatically The time and the day of the week can be set automatically when receiving an RDS station which transmits the clock time (CT) information. This information (when available) is transmitted by the RDS radio stations once every minute. The clock is set within one or two minutes, if the RDS station has enough signal strength. · Search for an RDS station using the >> (forward) or << (backward) buttons. · Release the buttons when the symbol lights up steadily on the display (see 'Radio'). ­ The Auto-Time indicator ( ) flashes, indicating that the set is waiting for the time signal. · If you briefly press one of the << or >> buttons, manual tuning is switched to. 'Last Station Memory' function Your unit is provided with the function 'LAST STATION MEMORY', which means that the station that was playing when the set was switched off will be selected again when the unit is switched back on. 14 Display mode After tuning to an RDS station, the display indicates its frequency for 1. 5 seconds and the station name for 3. 5 seconds, and then it returns to normal time indication. · To display the frequency and the station name again, briefly press the << or >> button once. · To display the station name continuously, press the DISPLAY button twice within five seconds. · To return to normal time indication, press the DISPLAY button once more. GB Storing stations There are 10 memory locations available for storing stations. ­ The indication 'MEMORY' starts flashing on the display for 8 seconds. ­ Press the button once for a number from 1 to 5 and twice for a number from 6 to 10. Note: If no station is stored within the 8 seconds that 'MEMORY' is flashing, the storing mode is abandoned with no change to the current memory. MEMORY MEMORY Calling up a stored station · To call up a stored station, simply press the corresponding button. ­ Press the button once for a number from 1 to 5 and twice for a number from 6 to 10. ­ The unit switches to the station and the display indicates the frequency, 'MEMORY' and the memory location number. SC 610 page 15 RADIO Traffic information / Enhanced other networks (EON) Some RDS radio stations broadcast traffic informations at certain times. [. . . ] · If the tuned station provides traffic information, the ' ' symbol lights up on the display. · If the tuned station does not provide traffic information, the ' ' symbol will not light up and you will hear a 'beep' tone when pressing . · If the tuned station provides EON, the 'EON' indicator on the display lights up, next to the ' ' symbol. ­ An EON station does not contain traffic information by itself but provides a reference to another programme with traffic information.
