This system gives you clear and vivid sound for any kind of musical style, packaged in a timeless design. The RCD 2000 is an elegant CD-RDS-Tuner combination, which can be used as a standing system or mounted on the wall. [. . . ] ­ The HiFi searches for a preset station transmitting the type of programme you select. If it finds a station, it displays the station name and tunes to the programme. Note: If it does not find a station with the required programme type, then the message » NONE« appears briefly in the display. If no stations are stored in the memory, then the message » FREE« temporarily appears in the display. 32 CD MODE ___________________________________________________________________________ Basic CD mode functions General information about CDs Always hold CDs by the edge in order to avoid damaging them. To clean CDs use a lint-free cloth and wipe them in a straight line from the centre of the disc outwards. Do not use cleaning fluid for vinyl records or other solvents or scouring agents. Preparation 1 Switch on the HiFi and the loudspeakers. Selecting the CD player as the source SOURCE TUNER CD TAPE 1 Press the »SOURCE« button on the remote control, press »A« or »S« to select »CD« as the source and then press »OK« to confirm; or 2 Keep pressing the »SOURCE« button on the HiFi until the word »C D « appears in the display. ­ If there is no CD in the compartment, the message »NO DISC« appears in the display. 33 ENGLISH CD MODE ____________________________________________________________________________________ Inserting a CD You can play either standard 12 cm CDs or 8 cm CDs. Do not put more than one CD in the compartment. 1 Press the »OPEN/CLOSE« button on the HiFi to open the CD compartment. ­ The CD compartment opens. ­ The HiFi display reads » OPEN«. SOUND MODE OPEN/C MUTE LOSE SOURCE 2 Place the CD in the compartment with the printed side facing upwards. 3 Press the »OPEN/CLOSE« button on the HiFi to close the CD compartment. ­ The CD compartment closes and the HiFi display reads »CLOSE«. ­ The HiFi reads the contents of the CD, and the message »READING« appears in the display. ­ If the CD provides CD text the number of tracks and the total playing time appear in the remote control menu and the HiFi display, followed by the name of the album. If the CD does not have CD text you will only see the number of tracks and the total playing time. Note: You can also close the CD compartment by pressing »R«. ­ The CD compartment closes and playback begins. CD 14-Album: LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, THE BEST OF MENÜ INFO CD playback CD TRACK 1 PLAY 1 Press »R« to start playback. ­ Playback begins with the first track. The remote control menu displays the current track number and the word »PLAY«. The HiFi display shows the current track number and the elapsed playback time for that track. ­ Playback stops automatically at the end of the CD. 34 CD MODE ____________________________________________________________________________________ CD 2 - Title:FATHER FIGURE Note: If the CD provides CD text, you will see the name of the current track in the remote control menu. Select »INFO« to call up more information. 2 To pause playback, press »II«. To resume playback, press »II« or »R«. 3 To end playback press »5«. Selecting a particular track 1 Keep pressing »9« or »8« until you see the number or name of the required track in the display. ­ Playback of the selected track starts automatically. Repeating the current track 1 Press »R« during playback. ­ The track is replayed from the beginning. Searching for a passage CD SEARCHING 1 During playback, press »9« or »8« and hold it down until you find the desired passage. Playback begins as soon as you let go of the »9« or »8« button. Note: For selecting passages accurately to the second press »9« or »8« on the HiFi. V O LU M E 2 When you insert the three batteries (3 x 1. 5 V alkaline, LR6/AA/AM3), make sure the polarity is correct.
