It also provides superb cinema-quality audio playback ­ in stereo or with digital multi-channel sound ­ depending on the type of DVD and the HiFI system or stereo television. Other features of DVD video include the choice of audio channel and language, choice of subtitle language, and various camera recording angles. In addition to DVDs, your DVD player can also play MP3, video and audio CDs. [. . . ] Select the marker to be deleted with »s« or »a« and press »CLEAR« to delete it. Playing selected scenes 1 Press »MARKER« during playback. 2 Select the desired marker with »s« or »a« and press »SELECT« to confirm. ­ The display disappears and playback starts at the marked scene. 3 To play back a different marker, repeat steps 1 and 2. 17 ENGLISH VIDEO CD PLAYBACK _______________________________________________________________ Creating a video programme You can use this function to create your very own video programme. Note: Opening the disc compartment deletes the programme. Selecting a title 1 Switch on the television and select the channel for the DVD player, open the disc compartment, insert the video CD and close the compartment. 2 Switch the DVD player to STOP by pressing »STOP/RETURN 7«. 3 Call up the » PROGRAM « display by pressing »PROGRAM«. ­ Display: »PROGRAM P00 :00«. 4 Enter the title using »1 . . . 0 « and press »SELECT« to confirm. ­ Display: »PROGRAMM P01 :01« (P01 for the programmed title, 01 for the number of the title). You can program up to 99 titles. 5 Start playback of the video programme by pressing »PLAY/PAUSE 8 !«. 6 End playback of the video programme by pressing »STOP/RETURN 7«. Deleting the video programme 1 Press »STOP/RETURN 7« to switch the DVD player to STOP, then press »OPEN/CLOSE «. ­ The disc compartment opens and the video programme is deleted. Playing back titles in random order This function allows the titles on the video CD to be played back in random order. 1 Switch the DVD player to STOP by pressing »STOP/RETURN 7«. 2 Press »SHUFFLE«. ­ »SHUFFLE« appears on the DVD display. 3 Press »PLAY/PAUSE 8 !« to start playback. 18 VIDEO CD PLAYBACK _______________________________________________________________ Search functions This function gives you three ways to look for sections of scenes. 1 Press »STOP/RETURN 7« to switch the DVD player to Stop mode. 4«. ­ INTRO: the first 10 seconds of every section are played. With these functions you see the section or the scene for five seconds, then the scene or section is shown as an inset freeze-frame and the process is repeated with the next section or scene. 1 2 3 8 9 4 7 6 5 4 If more than nine scenes or sections are found, press »5 PREV« or a »s NEXT« to page between the overviews. 6 5 Playback starts at the section or scene which you select by pressing »1 . . . 0«. 6 Press »STOP/RETURN 7« to quit the function. 19 ENGLISH MP3 CD PLAYBACK Preparation _____________________________________________________ 1 Switch on the television and select the channel for the DVD player. DISC 2 Switch on the HiFi system and select the audio input for the DVD player. 3 Press » 9« to switch the DVD player on. ­ DVD-player display: »L O A D « then »N O D I S C «. Inserting the MP3 CD 1 Press the »OPEN/CLOSE « button. 2 Insert the MP3 CD in the disc compartment, with the labelling facing upwards. I D E O C D / C D P L AY E R 3 Press »OPEN/CLOSE «. OPEN/CLOSE DISC ­ DVD-player display: »C L O S E «, »L O A D «, then »MP3«, the number of titles and the playing time of the MP3-CD. Note: If the » -« symbol appears on the television screen, then the selected function is not available. The info bar contains the name of the folder and the number of titles. 2000 s CLAPTON s BACH 2 Select the required title by pressing »a «, »s«, »A« or »S« and then press »SELECT« to call it up. ­ Playback starts and the playing time of the title appears in the info bar. Impairment can also be caused by leads having been accidentally pulled out, damaged DVDs/CDs and worn-out batteries in the remote control. If the following measures do not bring about satisfactory results, consult an authorised dealer. Problem DVD player does not respond to remote control Cause/Remedy Point the remote control directly at the DVD player. Remove all obstacles which may impair the path of the remote control signal.
