If batteries have been stored for more than one week, always recharge them before use. It is normal for batteries to become warm during charging and they will gradually cool down to room temperature after being fully charged. Remove batteries from an electrical device if it will not be used for a long time. [. . . ] Insert AA or AAA NiMH batteries into the charging slots according to the polarity indications (+/-). When inserting batteries into the charging slot, slide down the negative contact to ensure the battery is placed properly. Pull out the folded plug pins of the charger until they reach the correct position. Connect the charger directly into a corresponding AC power outlet (Fig 2). The red LED indicator will flash and the charger will stop charging if alkaline, rechargeable alkaline or damaged batteries are mistakenly inserted into the charging slots.
