Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] DATA: 5 memory files with date and exercise duration, number of steps, distance covered and calories expended. ALARM: daily alarm USE / RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE Normal conditions of use - Wear the pedometer as close as possible to your body's centre of gravity, just to the right or left of your belt buckle. - For reliable readings, it is important to keep your speed steady and to maintain a regular stride. - The pedometer's technology limits its use on uneven ground. Description of the device The numbers refer to the button numbers on pages 2 and 3. [. . . ] - Divide this distance (L) by the number of steps (NP) to calculate your stride length: Stride length (LP) = L/NP. For example: If you take 13 steps to cover 10 metres (1000cm), your stride length (1000/13) = 75cm. It automatically detects your stride type and adapts its calculations accordingly. It is therefore necessary to set a walking stride length, symbolised by a picture of a walker on the right of the screen, and a running stride length (symbolised by a picture of a runner). To calculate calories expended, you need to enter your weight. SETTING THE PEDOMETER NB: When setting the device, if no operation is made for 30 seconds, the pedometer automatically exits setting mode. NB: When one system of units is selected in one of the modes, it is then applied to the other modes. Example: If stride length is set in cm, then the distance covered is displayed in km. Setting the time - Press the MODE button to change between TIME, STEP, DATA and ALARM display modes. Repeat the same procedure to set the seconds; in this operation the seconds automatically change to zero. - Confirm your setting by pressing the MODE button. Repeat the procedure to set the year, month, day and 12/24 hour mode. If this is active, a moon symbol is displayed on the left of the screen and every time a button is pressed the screen lights up for 3 seconds. - Press the SET button to end the setting procedure. 22 23 EN - In TIME mode, pressing the RESET button activates or deactivates the hourly beep. To reset the total number of steps and the total distance covered to zero, select total display in STEP mode using the SET button and then hold down the RESET button for 2 seconds. Using the DATA mode The pedometer allows you to store data from five training sessions in the memory, along with the date and duration of the session, the number of steps, the distance covered and the calories expended. Saving information: As soon as you reset to zero in STEP mode, the information is automatically saved in DATA mode. When a new session is saved in R1, the information in the memory is moved to file R2, and then R3. When the five memories are in use, the oldest session (saved in R5) will be deleted when the new session is saved. Consulting the saved information: - Select DATA mode using the MODE button. - The top line displays the date (day: month) and the file number (R1, R2, etc). The bottom line displays the exercise time for the saved session - Select the file that you want to consult by pressing the RESET button. Press SET again to see the calories expended and the exercise time. 26 27 EN PODOMETREDISTAT500PART1. qxd:Mise en page 1 20/03/07 15:41 Page 28 DATA Date, "R1", exercise time RESET Date, "R2", exercise time RESET Date, "R5", exercise time TECHNICAL INFORMATION Changing the battery The device uses a CR2032 3V battery To replace the battery: Battery SET SET SET Steps and distance SET RESET Steps and distance RESET Steps and distance SET SET SET Steps and calories RESET Steps and calories RESET Steps and calories Contacts 1.
