To transfer data to or from a data card: GPSMAP 3206/3210 Owner's Manual 57 MAIN MENU MAIN MENU > MESSAGES TAB AND ALARMS TAB Messages Tab The Messages tab shows a list of messages generated by the GPSMAP 3206/3210. The date and time when each message occurred is shown at the bottom of the tab. Alarms Tab Use the Alarms tab to define alarm settings. The Alarms tab is divided into three sub tabs: System, Nav, and Sonar. If you have a GDL 30/30A Marine Weather Satellite Receiver connected, the Weather sub tab is visible. Alarm messages appear in red across the status bar or change the appearance of a data field if that field shows alarm-related data (for example, depth or voltage). The status bar and data field remain red while the alarm condition persists. MAIN MENU Viewing Detailed Message Information You can view detailed information about the message, such as date, time, position, speed, course, and heading. 4. To set an alarm: Use the ROCKER to highlight the System, Nav, or Sonar sub tab. Highlight the field next to the alarm you want to set, and press ENTER. Repeat steps 1­3 to set additional alarms, and then press ENTER when finished. GPSMAP 3206/3210 Owner's Manual 58 MAIN MENU > ALARMS TAB System Alarms Use the System sub tab to set alarms for the system clock, batteries, and GPS accuracy. · Clock--provides an alarm for the system clock. Enter a time in the time field and turn the alarm on and off from the control field menu. Remember to enter alarm times in the same time format (UTC or local) you are using for your system. · Battery--sets an alarm to sound when the battery reaches a userdetermined low voltage. · GPS Accuracy--sets an alarm to sound when the GPS location accuracy falls outside the user-determined value. · Anchor Drag--sets an alarm to sound when you are a specified drift distance. Enter a value in the distance field, and use the control field to turn the alarm on and off. · Arrival--sets an alarm to sound when a specified distance or time away from a destination waypoint is exceeded. Enter a distance, radius, or time for sounding the alarm, and use the control field to set the alarm to Off, Dist (Distance), or Time. · Off Course--sets an alarm to sound when you are off course by a specific distance. Enter a distance in the distance field, and use the control field to turn the alarm on and off. Sonar Alarms* Nav (Navigation) Alarms Use the Nav sub tab to set navigational alarms, including anchor drag, arrival, and off course. · Shallow Water/Deep Water--sets an alarm to sound when you enter an area of specified depth that is too shallow or too deep. · Water Temperature--sets an alarm to sound when the transducer reports a temperature either above, below, inside, or outside the specified values. · Fish --sets an alarm to sound when the unit detects a fish of the specified symbols. *You must be receiving NMEA sonar data or using a GSD 20, GSD 21, or GSD 22 for the sonar alarms to function. GPSMAP 3206/3210 Owner's Manual 59 MAIN MENU Use the Sonar sub tab to set sonar alarms, including shallow or deep water, water temperature, and fish. MAIN MENU > SYSTEM TAB Weather Alarms** Use the Weather sub tab to set weather alarms, including marine, tornado, severe storm, flood, and flash flood warnings. System Tab The System tab consists of five sub tabs: General, Units, Time, Comm, and Update. **You must have a GDL 30/30A Satellite Weather Receiver connected to your GPSMAP 3206/3210 for weather alarms to function. MAIN MENU Use the General sub tab to control system settings for system mode, speed filter, automatic backlight, beeper, language, simulator controls, restore factory default settings, and to view the software version. The following settings and options are available: · System Mode--select Normal (normal navigation) or Simulator (for practice only).
