In the case of intruder or PA alarms the Guardian should take adequate steps to ensure his/her own safety as the intruder may still be on the premises. Direct calls to UK emergency services are not allowed (please check for other countries) and the facility of programming their number has been blocked. The Speech Dialler will then pass its Common Message (usually address) followed by the Short Message (usually type of alarm). If Call Acknowledge is off, the Speech Dialler will shut down and the Guardian should then take the agreed action. Or 4) If Call Acknowledge is On the Speech Dialler will give a tone after the message has been passed, the Guardian should acknowledge this tone by pressing the # key on the telephone for at least one second.
