(3)Next, set the Variable Shutter Lever at CLOSE and adv a n c e t h e f i l m f o r w ar d u p to th e p o in t you started exposing in reverse to complete your reverse single-frame exposure. 7 - L A P - DI S S O L V E S A lap-dissolve shows one scene gradually fading away as it is repl aced by another scene. Just before fi ni shi ng the cut, move the lever slowly from OPEN to C LOS E to fade out the end. Movi e ti tl es are good exampl es. To make a superimposed title, follow the procedure described below' (1)S et the V ari abl e S hutter Lever at S and shoot the backgro und picture. The Frame Counter will count the number of frames you exposed, but be sure to make a note of that number' @Shoot a Í a d e - in (2)Set the Forward-Reverse Button at R, the Variable Shutter Lever at CLOSE, and press down the Shutter Release Button to wind back the film. Release the button as soon as the Frame Counter counts back to O (zero). After winding back the Íilm, set the Forward-Reverse Button at F. (3)Set the Variable Shutter Lever midway between 2 ànd 4, point the camera at the title (preÍerably written with white ink on a sheet oÍ black paper), and move the needle in the vievúinder into the center of the bracket by turning the Aperture Control Ring. Finally, press down the Shutter ReleaseButton to expose the same number of frames you exposed on the first run. Shoot a scence Shoot the title (6)Continue shooting aÍter fading in i g . When a lens is focused on a subiect, there is a zone of acceptable sharpness both behind and in front of thè point of sharpest focus. This zone is referred to as the depth of Íield, and it can become wide or narrow dependi ngon the l ens focal l ength, the si zeof the aperture and the shooting distance.
