[. . . ] Entering a zero in the Song Step field ends the Create Song process and asks for the number of the sequence which you want to contain your completed song. Copy To Which Sequence: Enter the number of the sequence into which you wish to place the song. If the sequence you specify is one which you are using in the song, the display will return to the Select Sequence mode after letting you know that you cannot use that sequence. Cannot Copy To An Existing Seq Select another sequence and try again. Pag* 15 If you hit the Play button during the Create Song process, you will hear the song as it currently exists; it will play from the currently selected song step. Note that the song will not be recorded into its own sequence until you exit the Create Song mode by entering a zero in the Song Step field. This means you can create a part of your song, return to the Select Sequence menu to work on another sequence, then return to the Create Song menu later to add the new sequence. Once a song is transferred into a sequence, it may still be added to using Insert/Copy or by incorporating the sequence into a newly created song. Note that the song list takes up far less memory than actually copying all of the desired sequences into a new sequence, but a "create song" list cannot be saved to disk. To insert a song step (sequence) before the displayed step, press the Insert/Copy button during the Create Song process. The current step and all higher-numbered steps are shifted up one place and a blank step is inserted (SEQ:0 BARS:0) to allow you to enter the sequence you wish to add. To delete the displayed step, press the Delete Bars button during the Create Song process. The current step is deleted and all the following steps are shifted down one place. Note that song lists are applicable only for the currently selected mode. If you record your drum and synth sequences so that the drum and synth sequences that are to play together have the same sequence numbers, the song list works for both modes -you can simply create the song list in Drums mode, save the list to a drum sequence, then switch to Synth mode and save the list to a synth sequence. p «0« 16 ! I Time Sig/# of Bars Pressing the Time Sig. /# of Bars button allows y ° u to initialize the time signature and number of bars in the currently selected sequence. The Time Signature display shows the time signature and size in bars of the current sequence. This screen expects a Yes/No response as to whether you want to create a new sequence. A "No" response returns to the Select Sequence mode without creating a new sequence. A "Yes" response reminds you that the currently selected sequence will be erased. An arrow in the upper right corner indicates the sequence contains timing signature changes; these can be viewed using the Right/Left arrows. (Note that although it is not possible to change the time signature of a sequence after data has been recorded on it, you can add bars of another time signature with the Insert/Copy function, selecting blank bars of the desired time signature. ) This ERASES Old Are You Sure?Once again, a "No" response returns to the Select Sequence mode; a "Yes" response proceeds to the next prompt, which asks for the new time signature. Enter New Time Sig: 4/4 This screen expects numeric entries for the time signature. [. . . ] A standard communications protocol used to send data between musical instruments. Note Value -- Traditional music notation assigns values to notes based upon the length in time of the note. This value is expressed as a fraction of a whole note, i. e. , 1/4 (called a quarter note) or 1/8 (an eighth note). Omni Mode -- In Omni mode, a MIDI device receives data on all MIDI channels.
