[. . . ] Select an application from the Select target application box and click OK. The selected application is now assigned to the scanner's a Start button. Execute Scan Button automatically check box When this check box is selected, the assigned application will automatically open and the scanned image is sent to the application when you press the a Start button. When this check box is clear, no application is assigned to the a Start button and only the Scan Buttons bar will appear when the a Start button is pressed. Then you can select an application from the Scan Buttons bar. Using the Start Button 5-5 Adding Applications to the Scan Buttons Bar You can add applications appearing in the Application bar at the bottom of the PageManager window to the Scan Buttons bar. Click the arrow next to the Scan to box and select the application you want to add to the Scan Buttons bar. Select the appropriate scanning settings (Document Type, Scan Mode, etc. ) for the application from this dialog box and click Add. The button of the selected application appears on the Scan Buttons bar. 5-6 Using the Start Button To remove an application assigned to the Scan Buttons bar, select the application in the box on the left of the dialog box and click Remove. Then click OK. Suppress TWAIN User Interface check box When this check box is selected, the EPSON TWAIN Pro dialog box does not appear when you scan, and the scanner works according to the settings in PageManager. When this check box is clear, the EPSON TWAIN Pro dialog box appears when you scan, and the scanner works according to the settings in EPSON TWAIN Pro. Enable Document Feeder check box When this check box is selected, the scanner feeds your documents through the Automatic Document Feeder. When this check box is clear, the scanner scans your documents from the document table. 5 Registering new applications To add an application to the Scan Buttons bar, you need to register the application. The registered applications will appear in the Scan to: box in the Scan Buttons Setting dialog box. Once you install the Transparency Unit, you can leave it in place even when you want to return to scanning normal (paper) documents. Unpacking the Transparency Unit Make sure that all the items shown below are included and have not been damaged during shipping. Contact your EPSON dealer if any item is missing or damaged. Transparency Unit installation screws (2) reflective document mat film holders Note: Do not store anything except the reflective document mat in the Transparency Unit pocket. 6-2 Options Removing the shipping screw A shipping screw is installed on the Transparency Unit to prevent damage during shipping. Be sure to use the following procedure to remove this screw before attempting to use the unit. Screw the shipping screw into the storage hole as shown. STORAGE Options 6-3 Note: Before transporting the scanner, remove the Transparency Unit and return the shipping screw to its original shipping hole. See "Transporting the Scanner and the Transparency Unit" on page 7-4 for details. Installing the Transparency Unit Follow the steps below to install the Transparency Unit on the scanner. Remove the document cover from the scanner by lifting straight up on its back edge. Slide the mounting slots on the Transparency Unit under the two installation screws attached to the scanner. 6-4 Options 4. Insert the two installation screws provided with the Transparency Unit into the holes as shown below, and then tighten the screws with a coin. 6 5. Connect the Transparency Unit's connector to the option connector on the scanner. Options 6-5 Film Holders and reflective document mat Four film holders for scanning transparencies and a reflective document mat for scanning normal paper documents are included with this unit.
