These instructions come with no warranty or guarantee. [. . . ] Installing this battery requires a moderate level of technical ability and proficiency in the use of hand tools as well as a general understanding of electronic components.
Step 1 The top and bottom of the shuffle have white plastic caps held on by mild adhesive. Make sure you don't pry the metal beneath the caps up at the same time. The shuffle / loop switch is a metal arm about . 5" long that extends along the bottom to a switch on the logic board in the center of the Shuffle. Step 3 Lift out the metal retaining brackets on either side of the Shuffle. [. . . ] Step 5 Replace the battery, slide logic board back in iPodTM and replace screws and caps.
Your new battery will need a minimum of three hours charge time before its first use. [. . . ]
