How to Select Overlapping Shapes In some cases you may be unable to select text or a shape easily because it is under other text or shapes. Holding down the "Alt" key on the keyboard and clicking jumps over texts or shapes overlaid on top, making it possible for you to select shapes or the like on lower layers. 187 Creating Titles Grid View You can use the grid as a reference for moving text and shapes arranged in the Titler's Preview window. You can show or hide the grid at the click of a button. You can change the spacing (pitch) and color of the grid. For more information, refer to Changing the Settings for the Titler (p. 216). Moving Text and Shapes Using the Arrow Keys Holding down the "Alt" key on the keyboard and pressing an arrow key moves the object one grid unit. Arranging Text and Shapes Using the Guide You can display a guide (reference lines) in the Preview window and use this guide as a reference for laying out text and shapes. You can also lay out text and shapes according to the guide lines by clicking the Align button. * Clicking the Guide button a second time hides the guide lines. * You can change the spacing of the guide lines. For more information, refer to "Changing the Settings for the Titler" (p. 216). 188 Creating Titles Auto Layout Feature This feature automatically aligns the location of text and shapes in the Titler. You can turn the display of the center image on and off by clicking the "B. G. " button. * When "B. G. " (background) button is lit in green and the center image is displayed, clicking "B. G. " button makes the center image disappear and "B. G. " button go dark. 193 Creating Titles Capturing a Center Image, Frame, or Background from a CD-ROM or Memory Card 1. Go to "External Capture" and click the "Capture Full-screen Background" button. If you're capturing from a CD-ROM, insert the CD-ROM into the tray at the front of the DV-F1E. If you're capturing video from a memory card for a digital camera, insert the card into an optionally available memory-card reader (DL-CR1).
