Steam can cause burns. INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing a DURACRAFT® NATURAL WARM MOISTURETM HUMIDIFIER. It automatically shuts off when the tank is empty or removed, or when the Mist Chamber is removed. Before using your humidifier, we would like to explain the benefits of maintaining your home or office at the proper humidity level. [. . . ] NOTE: WHEN CARRYING THE FILLED WATER TANK, PLEASE USE THE HANDLES ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE TANK FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT. DESIRED HUMIDITY LOW OFF HUMIDITY LEVEL POWER HIGH REFILL & RESTART RESTA RT DH-911/ DH-912 OPERA TION THIS HUMIDIFIER USES NEW TECHNOLOGY. · With the power switch in the OFF position, plug the filled humidifier into a polarized 120V outlet. CAUTION: DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING ON TOP OF UNIT WHILE RUNNING, DAMAGE WILL OCCUR. · DO NOT FORCE THE POLARIZED PLUG INTO THE OUTLET; it will only fit one way. CAUTION: DO NOT PLUG IN THE HUMIDIFIER WITH WET HANDS AS AN ELECTRIC SHOCK COULD OCCUR. · Allow 2 to 5 minutes for the base to fill with water and for the humidifier to begin producing moisture. · When you are finished using the humidifier, turn the power switch to OFF. · ALWAYS be sure to discard any unused water in the base each time you refill the water tank or finish using the humidifier. · When a comfortable humidity level is reached, lower the Humidity Level (Humidistat) setting slowly until the heating element shuts off. The DESIRED HUMIDITY light will illuminate, indicating that the desired humidity setting has been reached. The Humidistat will automatically restart the heating element each time the humidity level falls below this setting. Be sure to perform these in the proper order to avoid harmful chemical interactions. · Remove the No DripTM water tank by grasping the handle and pulling straight up. MODELS DH-909/DH-910 · Remove the Mist Chamber by pushing the locking tab and lifting up from the Base (Figure 5). 6 RESTART REST · Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the outer surfaces. Step One: W E E K L Y S C A L E R E M O VA L (Remove and RinseTM Tray) · Lift the Remove and RinseTM tray out of the unit. MODELS DH-911/DH-912 · Remove the Mist Chamber by pulling out the locking knob and lifting up from the base (Figure 6). · DO NOT clean the Mist Chamber or heating element under running water. Doing so may cause damage or personal injury. · Fill the Remove and RinseTM tray with DuraRinseTM Humidifier Cleaner (#AC-816), following bottle instructions, or one 8-oz. · With DuraRinseTM or vinegar still in the tray, clean all interior surfaces of the tray with a soft brush or cloth to remove scale. CLEANING cont. · Flush the Remove and RinseTM tray thoroughly with clean, warm water to remove scale and cleaning solution. If you choose to clean it this way, instead, you may skip the Weekly Disinfecting Step. Step Two: W E E K L Y DISINFECTING (No DripTM Water Tank and Remove and RinseTM Tray) · Be sure the water tank is empty. Let solution stay 20 minutes, swishing every few minutes to wet all surfaces. · Repeat for the Remove and RinseTM tray if you have not cleaned it in the dishwasher. AFTER DISINFECTING. . . · Reposition the medicine cup, tray, power unit (locking securely), and water tank in the base. [. . . ] This 3 year limited warranty applies to repair or replacement of product found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from commercial, abusive, unreasonable use or supplemental damage. Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be considered manufacturing defects under this warranty. Duracraft is not liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature.
