[. . . ] Warning Make sure the fuel in the tank is less than 4 litres (the reserve light on the instrument panel should be on) or fuel may leak out through the filler plug breather. Do not lift the tank exceedingly or you may damage the fuel sensor wire and the fuel lines. When lowering the tank, be sure the fuel lines are not squeezed and the fuel sensor wire is not pushed too close to vertical cylinder head. 1 fig. 43 and 44) Replace air filter at the required intervals shown in the routine maintenance chart (see Warranty Card). If level drops below the limit, air might get into the circuit and affect the operation of the system involved. Brake and clutch fluid must be topped up and changed at the intervals specified in the routine maintenance chart (see Warranty Card) by a Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop. SUPERSPORT800 MIN E Important It is recommended all brake and clutch lines be changed every four years. Brake system If you find exceeding play on brake lever or pedal and brake pads are still in good condition, contact your Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop to have the system inspected and any air drained out of the circuit. Warning Brake and clutch fluid will damage paintwork and plastic parts if accidentally spilled. Hydraulic oil is corrosive; it may cause damage and lead to severe injuries. 45. 2 48 Clutch system If the control lever has exceeding play and the transmission snatches or jams as you try to engage a gear, it means that there is air in the circuit. Contact your Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop to have the system inspected and air drained out. Warning Brake fluid level will increase as clutch plate friction material wears down. If the grooves in the friction material are still visible, the pad is still in good condition. E Rear brake The friction material on each pad should be at least 1 mm thick.
