Read Instructions ­ All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Retain Instructions ­ The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference. MULTI (Upon purchase): Select this if the connected TV is of both the NTSC and PAL types. In this format there is less flickering than with the interlaced format. Progressive mode Squeeze mode Use this procedure to set the output picture when "WIDE (16:9)" is selected at "TV ASPECT" ( page 20). Sets the optimum progressive mode for the image material. 1 2 D 1 Use [D H] to select "PROGRESSIVE MODE", then press [ENTER]. OFF (Upon purchase): The picture is displayed over the entire 16:9 TV screen, regardless of the original image size. ON: The picture is displayed in the center of the 16:9 TV screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, regardless of the original image size. AUTO: When playing 4:3 images, the picture is displayed in the center of the 16:9 TV screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. VIDEO2: This mode is suited for playing video material discs and 30-frame film material discs. D 2 Use [D H] to select the item to be set, then press [ENTER]. MULTI CHANNEL (Upon purchase): Select this when using 3 or more speakers. The "SPEAKER CONFIGURATION", "CHANNEL LEVEL" and "DELAY TIME" setting screens appear. 2CH (VSS OFF): Select this when using 2 speakers and a Dolby Pro Logic decoder (Dolby Pro Logic compatible amplifier).
