[. . . ] Extreme caution is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never place appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. [. . . ] Please remember that receptacles also deteriorate due to aging and continuous use: check periodically of if signs overheating or deformations are evidenced by the plug. Check that neither the appliance nor the power cable have been damaged in any way during transportation. Do not cover the appliance while it is functioning in order to avoid overheating with the attendant risk of fire. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION - Before using the appliance check that your supply voltage is the same of that shown on the rating label of the unit. INSTALLATION The appliance can be used as a portable unit only, resting on any horizontal surface. The appliance must not be positioned directly underneath a fixed power point. OPERATION - Summer use (ventilation only): turn the mode selector clockwise to the position. - Heating at maximum power: turn the mode selector to the 2 position. - Setting the mode selector: when the room temperature has reached the desired level, slowly turn the mode selector counter-clockwise until the indicator light goes out but no further. the appliance will now automatically maintain the temperature at the desired level. - Anti-freeze function With the mode selector in the thermostat position , the appliance maintains the room of about 5 degrees C (41 degrees F) thus preventing freezing with minimal energy consumption. - Periodically clean the air intake and outtake grille during the period in which the heater is in use. CAUTION - Do not use this heater in the immediate proximity of showers, bathrubs, swimming pools, etc. never obstruct the intake and outtake grilles (danger of overheating). - The heater must positioned at least 50 cm (20 inches) from furniture or other objects. - If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service center or a qualified electrician in order to eliminate all risk. - Do not cover the appliance when in operation as this could cause a fire risk. The heater is fitted with a safety thermal cut-off which will switch off the heater in case of accidental overheating (eg. Obstruction of air intake and outtake grilles, motor turning slowly or not at all). To reset, turn the heater off, disconnect the plug from the outlet for a few minutes, remove the cause of overheating then plug the appliance in again. [. . . ] The above warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties and representations. All implied warranties are limited to the applicable warranty period set forth above. This limitation does not apply if you enter into an extended warranty with De'Longhi. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above exclusions may not apply to you. [. . . ]
