[. . . ] Reset gives the option of retaining the Switch's User Accounts and History Log while resetting all other configuration parameters to their factory defaults. If the Switch is reset with this option enabled, and Save Changes is not executed, the Switch will return to the last saved configuration when rebooted. The Reset Config option will reset all of the Switch's configuration parameters to their factory defaults, without saving these default values to the Switch's non-volatile RAM. If the Switch is reset with this option enabled, and Save Changes is not executed, the Switch will return to the last saved configuration when rebooted. In addition, the Reset System option is added to reset all configuration parameters to their factory defaults, save these parameters to the Switch's non-volatile RAM, and then restart the Switch. This option is equivalent to Reset Config (above) followed by Save Changes. Figure 6 - 6. Click to check the Yes option if you want to save the current configuration to non-volatile RAM before restarting the Switch. Click the No option if you do not want to save the current configuration before restarting the Switch. In this case, all of the configuration information entered from the last time Save Changes was performed will be lost. NOTE: Clicking the Yes option in the Restart menu is equivalent to executing Save Changes and then restarting the Switch. Click the Restart button to restart the Switch. Figure 6 - 7. The Basic Switch Setup window allows you to change the settings for the Ethernet interface used for in-band communication. The fields listed under the Current IP Settings heading are those that are currently being used by the Switch. Those fields listed under the New Switch IP Setting heading are those that will be used after clicking on the Apply button. To set the Switch's IP address: Click the Basic Switch Setup link (in the Basic Setup folder) to open the menu illustrated below.
