Manual abstract: user guide CUISINART CPT-90

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Cuisinart may cause injury. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or countertop or touch hot surfaces. Do not place toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. Oversize foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock. [. . . ] · Thickly cut pieces of bread and bagels will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. · When toasting raisin breads, fruit breads, or fruit muffins, remove any loose fruit, etc. This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking on the guard wires in the slot. · Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves. · Most 4-slice toasters generate so much heat that when only 2 slices are toasted, they can be overtoasted. By positioning the slice control switch in the 1-Slice/2-Slice position 1 2 , the Cuisinart® 4-Slice Toaster generates less heat and better toasting results. · A single slice of toast requires less toasting time than two slices of bread. To prevent overtoasting of a single slice, put bread in the front slot, set the slice control switch to the 1-Slice/2-Slice position 1 2 , and set the browning control to a lighter setting than you normally would. By lowering the toasting time for a single slice, your toast won't get too brown. 3. Set slice control switch If toasting one or two slices, use the front slot. When toasting three or four slices, set the switch to the 3 Slice/4 Slice 3 4 position. Switch is located on the right side of the toaster above the "Defrost" button. 34 12 4. Begin toasting Press the carriage control lever until it locks into the down position. Select custom settings If desired, select the defrost or reheat setting after the carriage control lever has been pushed down. If no special settings are selected, the toaster will brown your toast based on the selection you made with the browning dial. Defrost - To defrost, then toast Adds time to the toast cycle for defrosting. Reheat - For reheating pre-toasted bread When one or more of these special settings has been chosen, a red LED light will come on above the selected feature button. 4 NOTES ON SPECIALTY USES: Toaster Pastries Exercise caution with toaster pastries: the filling can become quite hot, long before the surface of the pastry becomes browned. English Muffins and Thick Sliced Breads Require longer toasting time than regular breads. We suggest that you increase the darkness setting on the browning dial to increase the toasting time. Long Slices of Bread If your bread slice is so long that a toaster slot can only accomodate a single slice, we suggest that you set the browning control to a lighter setting than you normally would. Frozen Breads The following breads and pastries should be defrosted and warmed using the "Defrost" button: Frozen waffles, pancakes, French toast and bagels. Press the "Defrost" button when defrosting and toasting waffles, pancakes, French toast and bagel halves. [. . . ] Often, our Consumer Service Representatives can help solve the problem without having the product serviced. If servicing is needed, a representative can confirm whether the product is under warranty and direct you to the nearest service location. *Important: If the nonconforming product is to be serviced by someone other than Cuisinart's Authorized Service Center, please remind the Servicer to call our Consumer Service Center at 1-800-726-0190 to ensure that the problem is properly diagnosed, the product is serviced with the correct parts, and the product is still under warranty. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California residents have the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store where it was purchased or (B) to another retail store which sells Cuisinart products of the same type. The retail store shall then decide to either repair the product, refer the consumer to an independent repair facility, replace the product, or refund the purchase price less the amount directly attributable to the consumer's prior usage of the product.
