Properly used, this Cobra® product will give you many years of reliable service. Customer Installation How Your CobraMarineTM VHF Radio Works Assistance Owner's Manual This radio is a battery powered portable transceiver for use afloat. It gives you Secondary Icons 2-way vessel-to-vessel and vessel-to-shore station communications, primarily for safety and secondarily for navigation and operational purposes. With it, you can call for help, get information from other boaters, talk to lock or bridge tenders, and make radiotelephone calls to anywhere in the world through a marine operator. When the Weather Alert mode on your radio is on, this signal will produce a loud tone from the speaker in the radio and a flashing "ALRT" icon on the LCD to signal that a weather alert is being broadcast. To hear the warning itself, you will need to switch to the Weather Channel you selected.
