Manually Backdriving Gate This operator has a feature to manually push the gate open in an emergency or when power is not available to the operator. See the next page for correct procedure. Manually Backdrive Gate Pickets Push FIRMLY from end of gate to manually open. DO NOT push the gate from pickets, they will bend! Addendum Page 2 Addendum to Page 24 and 28 in the SL3000ULTM Manual Stop/Reset Button for Emergency Manual Release When AC or DC power is present: Press button ONCE to disengage the solenoid brake 1 Gate can now be manually pushed to open (Backdriven). (See Addendum Page 4 Solenoid Brake Description) Press button AGAIN to reset operator 2 Solenoid Brake is Engaged. Gate can no longer be manually pushed to open. Addendum to Page 24 and 28 in the SL3000ULTM Manual Addendum Page 3 Solenoid Brake Description Brake will keep spoked pulley from moving when engaged. Brake MUST be disengaged to manually push gate open (Backdriven). Connected to 120 Vac Only NO DC2000 Backup Brake Power (See Important below) Solenoid Brake Disengaged · Operator's normal gate cycle. · Stop/Reset button has been pressed ONLY once. Solenoid Brake Engaged · Gate in closed position with normal AC power. · Stop/Reset button has been pressed twice. Optional Factory Installed DC2000 Backup System Opens or closes the gate with dedicated devices wired directly to the DC2000 when the AC power fails at the operator. (Refer to pages 30 through 32 in the manual) WARNING To reduce the risk of INJURY, dedicated devices MUST be far enough from the gate so that the user is prevented from coming in contact with the gate while operating the controls. IMPORTANT The DC2000 WILL NOT operate an Emergency Key Switch (Knox Box) wired to the operator's surge suppressor when the AC power fails at the operator. If this AC power failure occurs, the solenoid brake will be disengaged regardless of the DC2000's battery power . The gate can be manually pushed opened at any time as long as there is NO AC power at the operator.
