[. . . ] When moving the unit, first disconnect the power plug and the wires connected to other equipment. Ensure a minimum distance of 5 cm (2") around the DSS 303 for sufficient ventilation. Ensure that the ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the DSS 303. [. . . ] The range of the remote control depends on the condition of the battery. Change the battery when it no longer works or its operating range diminishes. To change the battery, open the battery compartment on the bottom of the remote control and swap the old battery for a new one. The DSS 303 is equipped with a multi-voltage mains adaptor (100 ­ 240 Volt~) which means it can be used across the world. Other adaptors which may be necessary for the mains plug are not included. for initial start-up please connect the mains adaptor with the DC IN socket on the reverse of the DSS 303. During first operation of the DSS 303, the time must be set via the remote control included. Change to the minutes by pressing the , , PRESET UP" button and these can be adjusted by using the , , TUNING UP" or , , TUNING DOWN" buttons. Similarly, change to seconds by pressing , , PRESET UP" again and use the tuning buttons to alter the seconds. the clock on the DSS 303 has a buffer in the event of a power cut of up to one hour. Please see page 22 for information about the alarm function and the sleep timer. Choose the appropriate adaptor for your iPod® model based on the table below and insert it into the dock. You can then insert your iPod® and adjust the stabiliser to the DSS 303 by adjusting the screw until it touches the back of the iPod®. The function buttons on your iPod® remain active while it is in the DSS 303 and its battery will be recharged regardless of whether the devices are switched on or off. The volume control on the iPod® will not affect the music playback of the DSS 303 but only the volume of the iPod®'s headphone output. Alternatively the antenna socket may also be connected to a roof aerial or a broadband cable connection. The search sequence is activated by sustained pressing (longer than 1 second) of the , , TUNING" button. In order to programme a station you must first set the desired radio frequency. Use the , , MEMO" button to start this process, the display for the preset will start to flash. Use the , , PRESET UP" and , , PRESET DOWN" buttons to select the desired preset area and then confirm by pressing , , ENTER". [. . . ] Remove the iPod from the dock of the DSS 303 and place it back in after several seconds. The iPod® does not react to the DSS 303 remote control Take the iPod® out of the dock of the DSS 303 and place it back in again after several seconds. Move the remote control closer to the DSS 303 and test the buttons from a different location. Please make sure that there are no obstacles blocking the infrared signal from the remote control to the DSS 303. [. . . ]
