Warranty
The Cannon appliance is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one, (1) year from its date of original purchase, for residential use in Australia. Warranty service, which includes parts and labour for the replacement or repair of defective parts, is available through Cannon Authorised Service Agencies. (Please refer to the list of authorised service agents in this manual. ) Consumers are responsible for service person's travel outside normal service areas (approximately seventy (70k) radius from the nearest Cannon dealer's location), local cartage, and normal maintenance as described in this manual. [. . . ] Remove the heater from the carton and remove the three transit screws. (Please dispose of packaging appropriately, keep away from children).
Clearances
4. Ensure the minimum clearances to combustible construction are maintained during installation, including adequate space for the proper operation and servicing of the heater. Note: Ensure that the combustion air opening under the heater is not obstructed.

A CLEARANCE OF 50mm MUST BE MAINTAINED BETWEEN THE REAR OF THE CABINET AND THE REAR WALL OF THE FIRE PLACE.
Fitment of cabinet depth spacer
The clearance is required for correct fluing of the appliance. If the clearance is less than 50mm a cabinet depth spacer must be fitted. Remove lower panel and front panel of heater as indicated in figure 16 & 17. Open the packaging and remove the three sections which make up the spacer assembly. Refer figure 11.

Assemble the spacer by fixing the two side sections to the top sections with a s/t screw (provided) each side. Replace the front frame/spacer assembly by sliding the assembly down over the cabinet top flange and then pushing it in firmly. Fix in position with the 2 s/t screws and replace the front lower panel.

Installation into a fireplace.
5. Models FITZPIB & FITZPIBLP can be installed into a masonry/ brick fireplace or a mock fireplace. If installing into a mock fireplace a mock fireplace installation kit MUST be used. The mock fireplace kit can be ordered from the relevant service agent. Hard (fixed) wiring connection is to be carried out only by a qualified electrician. Remove the lower front cover by unscrewing two M5 screws from the air intake slot. If unit is fitted with supply flexible cord ensure that the cord cannot be trapped when the heater is installed.

8. Remove two s/t screws from bottom flange of front panel as indicated on figure 17.

9. Remove the front heater surround by pulling the lower section toward you gently to partly disengage it from the body of the heater. After it has been disengaged gently lift it up vertically to completely disengage it from the body of the heater. Refer figure 18 & 19.

10. Disconnect the switch loom connector from the loom plug. 4 on single right back pin, ensure left side of log rests on depression in No. Connect plug to the wall socket and switch it on.

Gas control
23. [. . . ] At this point the spark electrode will activate for up to 10 seconds maxi mum until the flame has been established. Terminal 14 (white wire into the 8 way switch connector) will be energised as soon as the flame has been sensed. · A blue spark can be seen when the heater ignition process starts. · Check that there is no short circuit to earth and spark gap is correct.
