Dispose of your appliance at an approved collection centre in the container provided for this purpose so that it can be re-processed. [. . . ] Choosing your water You can use either tap water or distilled water for irons. Depending upon the limescale level of your tap water and upon your weekly ironing load (average time : 2/3 hours), it can be more economical to use distilled water for irons (not for car batteries). In this case, your cartridge should last up to 1 year (depending on the amount of your ironing and on the quantity of steam you ask for). Remove, shake it for a few seconds and wait for the resultant colour change (approximately 1 minute). 2 or more mauve squares : we advise you to use distilled water for irons. Never add products containing alcohol or essences (perfume, eau de Cologne, lavender essence…) to the water. It is not necessary to switch off or unplug your ironing centre when refilling. €¢ Remove the anti-scale cartridge from the water tank and fill it. Insert the cartridge as shown, lining up the tube with the mark on the reservoir. To obtain steam, the anti-scale cartridge must be inserted into the water tank. When using your active ironing board, particularly when the ventilator is switched off, the underneath of the metal tabletop could become very hot especially at the pointed end. NOISE To ensure regular steam output performance, your unit is equipped with a pump which is activated each time the steam trigger is pressed. : - the appliance is used for the first time - the water tank is empty - the anti-scale cartridge has just been changed. VERTICAL IRONING • Your iron can also be used vertically to steam clothing on hangers or curtains in situ etc. STEAM SPRAY The professionnel iron has a steam spray facility which permits the use of a higher level of dampness to deal with creases but without leaving any water marks which would take longer to dry off. Press the steam trigger in the normal way and at the same time push the spray button for as long as required. Air-flow position : the switch is pressed upwards The blowing function creates an air cushion that allows delicate textiles, sensitive to heat, to be ironed. Stretched out over the air cushion, blouses, shirts, linings, trouser tops and other delicate items of clothing are gently ironed without any creasing. By using the blowing mode, the clothes no longer come into contact with the soleplate of the iron, hence there is no creasing, hot iron marks or stitching imprints. Suction position : the switch is pressed downwards The suction function creates a flow of air that accelerates the extraction of the dampness generated by the steam. ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE The reference number to order anti-scale cartridges for this iron is 413 045. The anti-scale cartridges are available in blister pack from the Help-line.
