[. . . ] To access the configuration settings for each access option, expand the individual system node and then select the name of the access option. Web Checkout The primary configuration setting to be defined for Web Checkout is the default installation path. The first time a user downloads workbooks using Web Checkout, the user is prompted to select an installation directory. The path defined in the Configuration Manager is presented as the default directory. Once a user's installation path has been established for a particular Business Objects Planning system, all workbooks downloaded from that system will continue to be saved to that location. The user can use the Set User Directory command within Web Checkout to change the directory. Note: If you have enabled Web Checkout for multiple systems, you should establish different default installation paths for each instance of Web Checkout. This will help prevent users from inadvertently overwriting files from one system with files from another system. We suggest using the defined Business Objects Planning system names as part of the default installation paths. However, remember that users always have the option to select different installation paths. Business Objects Planning Installation Guide 53 5 Configuring Business Objects Planning Enabling and configuring access options Review and complete the following fields on the Web Checkout node: Field Description Type the path that you want to use as the default installation path for Default Client Installation Directory Web Checkout. This directory is where the downloaded system files and workbooks are stored on each end user's machine. For example: C:\PlanningDistrib\PortlandiaBudget. Enable MD5 Hashing This setting enables validation of plan workbooks using an MD5 file on Client Upload and hashing protocol. Download MD5 file hashing generates a character string that uniquely identifies file contents at a binary level. Web Checkout generates the identifying character string for a plan workbook upon the original download. Before accepting a downloaded or uploaded plan workbook, Web Checkout generates the character string again and compares it to the original character string on the server. If the strings do not match, Web Checkout rejects the upload or download and prompts the user to try again. This protocol is used to guarantee that the data in plan workbooks is not corrupted during the transmission. Note that configuring Web Checkout to use this protocol adds to the total time of transmission. If you do not want this functionality enabled, change the setting to False. Web Forms Review the following fields on the Web Forms node and edit as necessary: Field Use Viewstate Description This setting determines whether the user's view state is transmitted with every request and response. Changing this setting to True causes more data to be sent to client machines, but uses less memory on the web server. The False setting uses more memory on the web server, but makes the client requests smaller. Enable Formula Bar This setting determines whether end users have access to an Excelstyle formula bar while working in Web Forms. With a True setting, end users can toggle the formula bar visible or hidden using the Web Forms interface. Changing the setting to False means that the formula bar will not be available to end users at all. 54 Business Objects Planning Installation Guide Configuring Business Objects Planning Enabling and configuring access options 5 Field Description Formula Bar Visible This setting determines whether the formula bar is visible to users by By Default default.
