[. . . ] User Guide BT FREESTYLE 6100 Section Welcome. . . to your BT Freestyle 6100 Digital Cordless Telephone Digital call quality with a range of up to 300 metres outdoors and up to 50 metres indoors. The 100 name and number directory makes it simple to store and dial your most frequently used numbers. Caller Display* lets you see who is calling and keep track of unanswered calls. Call Waiting* lets you know, during a call, that another caller is waiting to get through. [. . . ] Or, press to exit the Calls list. When all new calls in the list have been viewed, the icon on the standby screen will disappear. Press to exit. See `Entering names' on page 19 for help entering names in the directory. If you make a mistake, select Clear to delete the last character/s. 26 BT Calling Features & the Calls list Delete a Calls list entry 1. The display shows the time and date of the most recent call (or the telephone number if it had been displayed as a directory name, in which case select Options again). The handset gives a confirmation tone as the call is deleted and the display returns to the most recent entry in the list. Press to exit. Delete all numbers from the Calls list If the name is displayed, you need to select Options again. 1. Press , then select Options and scroll to Delete All Calls. 2. BT Calling Features & the Calls list 27 Call Waiting With Call Waiting, during a call, if another caller is trying to reach you, you will hear a soft beep every 5 seconds. If you have also subscribed to a Caller Display service, the caller's number (or name if stored in the directory) will be displayed for 20 seconds, after this time the display will return to your first caller's details. Instead of the engaged tone, the second caller will hear an announcement asking them to hold the line. To use Call Waiting To answer the second call, without disconnecting from your first caller: 1. The first caller will be put on hold and you will be connected to the second caller. Press again to return to the first caller, and then press it each time you want to switch between the two callers. The handset will then ring. IMPORTANT To use Call Waiting you must first subscribe to the service from your network provider. For more information on BT Calling Features call BT free on 0800 800 150. The Call Waiting beep is not audible to the person you are speaking to. 2. Press and continue your conversation with the second caller. 28 Handset settings Handset ringer volume The default ringer volume is 5. At each volume setting, a one second ringtone sample is played, to demonstrate the volume level. The handset has 5 ringer volume settings from 1 (low) to 5 (high) and Off. Press to exit. Handset ringer melody The default ringer melody is Melody 5. The handset has 10 ringer melodies to choose from; 5 normal (settings 1­5) and 5 polytones (settings 6­10). The current melody is displayed. A sample of each melody is played. 4. Press to exit. Handset settings 29 Key beeps You can set your handset to beep with each button press. Scroll to Key Beeps and select OK. The default key beeps setting is On. 3. Press Auto talk When the handset it on the base, you can answer a call just by picking it up.
