[. . . ] Using an unauthorised power supply will invalidate your guarantee and may damage the telephone. The power supply unit number will be either M-GA35-095130F or M-GA35-095132F. For the handset use only approved Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) rechargeable batteries. Recommended batteries should have a power rating of at least 600mAh 1. 2V. [. . . ] Fully discharging the batteries at least once a week will help them last as long as possible. However, the charge capacity of rechargeable batteries will reduce with time as they wear out, so reducing the talk/standby time of the handset. New batteries can be obtained from any BT shop or from the Diverse Helpline 08457 908070. If you replace the handset batteries with ones that have been fully charged, the battery indicator will not show full until the next charge cycle has been completed. From then on the display will be correct. 9 4 Connect the telephone line cord to the base and plug into the wall socket Ensure that each end of the line cord is fitted into the correct socket. Helpline Your Diverse Solo is now ready for use. However, if you experience any difficulties please call the BT Diverse Helpline on 08457 908 070. Signal strength The range of your Diverse Solo base station is 200 metres outdoors and up to 30 metres indoors under ideal conditions. If you go out of range the display will show SEARCH BASE and you will need to move closer to the base station. Using the telephone Making and ending calls To make an external call Press the GREEN PHONE button. Dial the number. 10 Preparatory dialling Enter the phone number first and then check that it is correct. Press the GREEN PHONE button to dial the number. To end a call Press the RED PHONE button. Or Place the handset back on the base station. To receive an external call When the phone rings, pick up the handset and press the GREEN PHONE button to answer the call. Redial Your handset automatically saves the last five telephone numbers dialled into a redial list. To dial a number in the redial list Press the REDIAL button. Press the GREEN PHONE button to dial the number. 11 Using the directory You can store up to 10 telephone numbers in the directory. You can enter numbers up to 22 digits. To store a number in the directory Press the DIRECTORY button. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the location number between 0 and 9 under which you want to store the number. The display will show SAVED and you will hear a confirmation tone. Note By pressing and holding the DIRECTORY button the number under the `0' location in your directory will be displayed. It is advisable to put your most frequently called number in this location. To dial a number in the directory Press the DIRECTORY button. The number is dialled. Note If the display shows <NUMBER> it means that there is no telephone number stored under that directory location number. 12 To edit a number in the directory Press the DIRECTORY button. The display will show SAVED and you will hear a confirmation tone. Caller Display Important To use Caller Display you must first subscribe to the Service from your Network Provider. For more information on BT's Select Services call BT free on 0800 800 150. If you subscribe to a Caller Display Service you can see the number of your caller on the handset display (unless the number has been withheld). Handset & Base Settings You can choose a range of settings to suit your personal preferences. To adjust the earpiece volume There are 3 earpiece volume levels to choose from (1-3). Press the DOWN button to select the earpiece volume level you want (1-3). The display will show SAVED and you will hear a confirmation tone. To adjust the handset ringer volume There are 4 ringer volume levels to choose from (1-4). You hear the current ringer volume and the display shows the volume level. Switchboard compatibility Generally this telephone may be connected to switchboards which support tone signalling and timed break recall. In the event of any difficulties, please consult your switchboard Service Provider. To set the dialling mode You need only adjust this setting if your switchboard does not operate with the pre-set tone dialling. Press the DOWN button until the display shows PULSE. 20 Press the OK button to confirm. Press the RED PHONE button. Setting pauses Please note If you want to insert a pause into a telephone number you are storing in your directory, start storing the number (see page 12) and where a pause is needed, press and hold the button.
