[. . . ] User Guide BT CALYPSO 225 Section Welcome. . . to your BT Calypso digital cordless colour screen telephone and answering machine · · · · · · · · · · Transfer phonebook entries between your mobile SIM card and BT Calypso handset. Handset operated answering machine with up to 20 minutes recording time. Use Caller Display to see who is calling and keep track of unanswered calls. (Service requires subscription. ) Register up to 5 handsets to a base without the need for additional wiring. [. . . ] If you do not have new messages it will answer after 6 rings, so if you are remotely accessing your answering machine (see `Remote access' on page 51) and you hear a third ring you can hang up and save the cost of a call. Scroll to Answer Machine and press OK. to Answer Settings and press OK. Press OK to confirm. Press OK to confirm. The new message indicators remain on until all new messages have been played. New message display At the handset: When you have new answering machine messages the standby screen shows the icon. At the base: The answering machine message indicator flashes. If you experience any problems, please call the Helpline on 0870 605 8047 Using the answering machine 47 Memory full The memory becomes full either because the maximum recording time of 20 minutes has been used up or the maximum number of messages ­ 59 ­ has been reached. If the maximum message length of 3 minutes is reached while recording an incoming message the caller will hear "Thank you for calling" and the machine automatically hangs up. If the memory becomes full while recording an incoming message the caller will hear "Thank you for calling" and the machine automatically switches to Answer Only mode. To free up more space for new messages, play and delete messages stored on your machine. At the base: When there are only 59 seconds of recording time left, the Answering Machine Messages indicator flashes quickly. Before playback the machine announces "You have X new messages" and begins to play them. You cannot delete unplayed messages. Play messages To play messages at any time, press Menu, scroll to Answer Machine and press OK. The message will be played over the handset loudspeaker. The number or name of caller (if available) and date and time of the call are also displayed. During playback, you can press: Pause ­ pause the message, then press Play to resume playback. Display confirms Message Deleted. ­ press once to replay the message or twice to play the previous message. or ­ to adjust the volume. ­ to hear messages over the handset loudspeaker. ­ to stop playback. Record a memo You can record a memo message on the answering machine for other users to hear. Scroll to Answer Machine and press OK. to Record Memo. Memos are stored in the same way as incoming messages. 3. Press OK and the voice prompt announces "Please speak after the tone, to end recording, press save". Press OK to stop playback and save the memo or Delete to erase the memo.
