[. . . ] User instructions We are pleased that our VERSAFIX may accompany your child safely through a new stage of his or her life. In order to protect your child correctly, the VERSAFIX must always be used and installed as described in these instructions. If you have any further questions regarding its use, please feel free to contact us. 1 with ISOFIX fastening Important: The fastening with ISOFIX requires a vehicle-specific approval. [. . . ] σ Apply your body weight to the child seat (kneel into the seat). At the same time pull the diagonal belt strongly to tighten (hold tension) and swivel the clamping lever 8 upwards until it engages. σ To re-tension pull the diagonal belt whilst the lock-off is closed. Checklist for correct installation For the safety of your child, check that… • the child seat is firmly installed in the vehicle. σ This countermovement releases the interior clamping of the belt lock-off 9 and the clamping lever 8 is now easy to open. 1 Adjusting the shoulder belts Before you install the child seat in the vehicle, please ensure that the shoulder belts are adjusted to the correct height. € The shoulder belts 10 must run at shoulder height or a little above the height of the child’s shoulders. € The shoulder belts 10 must not run behind the back of the child or at ear height or above the ears. σ Press the button of the shoulder belt height adjuster 14 at the rear of the seat shell and tilt the shoulder belt height adjuster 14 forward. σ By sliding the shoulder belt height adjuster 14 select the correct height of the shoulder belts and engage. 4 Buckling up the child  Open the buckle 17 of the child seat by pressing the red release button. σ Hook buckle tongues 19 into the rubber holders 29 (are not available on all covers) on the cover on the left and right side. σ Take the buckle tongues 19 left and right from the rubber holders 29 on the cover. 5 Function of the buckle The function of the buckle is very important for the safety of your child. Functional faults relating to the buckle are mostly attributable to accumulations of dust and dirt. Functional Problem • The buckle tongues are only slowly ejected when pressing the red release button. • The buckle tongues engage without the audible "click". Grasp the metal plate under the seat shell, with which the crotch belt 20 is secured to the seat shell. Schrittgurt 20 einbauen  Soak the buckle 17 in warm water (with dishwashing liquid) for an hour at least. Push it with the narrow side upwards through the belt slot 22 in the cover and into the seat shell. Please check the correct fitting of the metal plate by pulling up on the crotch belt 20 several times. Abhilfemaßnahme Functional Problem • The buckle tongues can no longer be inserted into the buckle housing. [. . . ] σ Pull the belt until the metal part 30 lies straight against the seat shell. σ Fold the fabric cover (lower half) over the outer edges of the seat shell. σ Clip the plastic insert of the cover into the opening of the seat shell. σ Push the shoulder belts 10 at the rear of the seat between the deflection bar 32 and the extension 31 of the shoulder belt height adjuster 14.
