SECURE THE BOOSTER SEAT WITH A VEHICLE BELT AS SPECIFIED IN THIS INSTRUCTION BOOKLET. USE ONLY THE VEHICLE'S LAP AND SHOULDER BELT SYSTEM WHEN RESTRAINING THE CHILD IN THIS BOOSTER SEAT. Under no circumstances should you use the Roadster with two point seat belts (lap belt only or shoulder belt only). Arm Rest Arm Rest Lap Belt Position Shoulder Belt Guide Shoulder Belt Guide Lap Belt Position Booster Seat Alone (Backrest Stored) Arm Rest Arm Rest Lap Belt Position Lap Belt Position Booster Seat 6 7 Installation With Backrest IMPORTANT: Use the Roadster with backrest for children who weigh between 40 and 65 lbs. 1 Quickly and firmly pull the backrest out from its storage area on the rear of the booster seat (Fig. 2 Completely extend the backrest from its storage area before lifting it to its upright position (Fig. 3 After the backrest is completely pulled out, lift the backrest to an upright seating position (Fig. The height can easily be adjusted by pulling up or pushing down on the backrest (Fig. D). IMPORTANT: The height of the backrest should be adjusted so that the shoulders of the child are approximately the same height as the shoulder belt guide on the backrest (Fig. E) 6 Take the lap and shoulder belt and place over the body of the child and fasten the seat belt (Fig. The lap belt part should be as low as possible, tightened over the thighs of the child. 8 Take the shoulder part of the belt and route it through the belt guide and under the armrest. The shoulder belt should fit snugly against the shoulder, not on the neck, of the child and lay directly across the child's chest. 9 Tighten the lap and shoulder belt and make sure the belt is not twisted. A E B D 8 C F 9 Installation Without Backrest IMPORTANT: Use the Roadster without backrest for children who weigh between 65 and 100 lbs. Place the child onto the Roadster 2 Take the lap and shoulder belt and place over the body of the child and fasten the seat belt. 3 The lap portion of the three point belt must be under the arm rests. The lap belt portion should be as low as possible, tightened over the legs of the child. 4 Place the shoulder part of the belt over the upper torso of the child. 5 Tighten the belt and make sure the belt is not twisted and never behind the back of the child.
