BRANDT ·SAFETY ADVICE Important : This machine is only for domestic use and is designed to wash, rinse and spin machine-washable textiles. We refuse to accept any liability and the guarantee if you do not observe these recommendations since this could result in damage to equipment or physical injury. [. . . ] Please refer to the section "CHILDREN'S SAFETY SYSTEM". Information: All the displays shown in these instructions are provided only as examples. The actual displays can vary depending on the model, the selected programme and the programming time. Important: Before switching on your machine, check that the power cable is plugged in and that the water tap is open. Also ensure that the drum doors and the machine's lid are shut correctly. ·ACTIVE MEMORY FUNCTION Your washing machine memorises your washing habits. Every time you start a programme, it records the temperature, the speed and the options you generally use and suggests these when you switch on. Important: When you start your machine for the first time, it proposes the manufacturer's recommended programme but it will learn your habits after a few cycles. ·SETTING THE CURRENT TIME ·General: Information: Setting the current time is only compulsory when using the "Finishing Time" function: the "Delayed Start" and "Remaining Time" functions do not require the clock to be set. -- When you switch on for the first time or if the power supply has been interrupted (a power failure or the power cable has been unplugged, etc. ) the "Finishing Time" flashes when this function is selected (for how to select this function, see the section "SETTING THE FUNCTIONS"). A ·Programming the current time: -- Switch your washing machine on by pressing the "On/Off" button 8 . -- Hold the button 6 A down until the "Current Time" function flashes. Set the hour by turning the knob 7 (this is set hour by hour over 24 hours). Set the minutes using the knob 7 (these are set minute by minute over one hour). When the clock setting is confirmed, the current time stays fixed for a very short period and then the "Finishing Time" function is displayed . Your machine is now ready to use this function. ·Changing "Summer Time / Winter Time": -- Proceed in the same way as above. ·Power failure during a cycle: -- When the power is restored, the program continues its normal course. If you had programmed a "Finishing Time" , this flashes. Important: If there is a power failure during a cycle, the "Current Time" is cut off throughout the interruption. This operation can be performed during programming, during the waiting period before the cycle actually starts and throughout the whole washing cycle. NB: Cancellation requires you, in all the cases, to reprogramme everything from the start. If you have cancelled during washing, remember to drain away the water if necessary. ·End of the cycle: NB: After spinning, your washing machine automatically positions the drum opening at the top to provide easy access to the washing. -- Then, the screen shows "Stop", indicating the end of the cycle. You can now open the lid and remove your washing. ·Maintaining your machine's performance (Maintaining the pump filter): You must clean the drain pump filter regularly (for how to do this, see the section "CLEANING THE PUMP FILTER"). Important : Your machine's performance can be affected if you do not clean the pump filter regularly. For more details on the various functions, please refer to the sections "PROGRAMME DETAILS" and "DETAILS OF THE OPTIONS". Important: In the "End of Cycle" phase, when "Stop" is displayed, if one of the buttons 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 is pressed this is not taken in account but returns you to "Programming" mode. We recommend, as a safety measure, that, at the end of a cycle, you turn off the water tap and unplug the power cable (When you plug the cable in again, remember to reprogramme the "Current Time"). 21 EN 4 / PROGRAMMING YOUR MACHINE ·SOME EXAMPLES OF PROGRAMMES To select the most suitable programme for your type of washing, follow the instructions on the labels that most textiles bear.
