Manual abstract: user guide BOSTON ACOUSTICS VOYAGER SUB12

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Designed for use with the Boston SA1 amplifier, up to two Voyager Sub12 Subwoofers can be used with one SA1 amplifier. Your subwoofer has been designed to deliver years of stunning audio performance. Please keep your manual in a safe place in case you need to refer to it later. [. . . ] When used with Boston Acoustics Voyager outdoor speakers, the crossover will typically be set between 65Hz and 80Hz; you should experiment for best results. When wiring two Voyager Sub12s to one SA1 amplifier, follow diagram #2. Warning Wiring two Voyager subwoofers in a series configuration will greatly reduce bass levels and is not recommended. Before choosing a speaker wire for this type of application, familiarize yourself with all local building codes and regulations and select your speaker wire accordingly. When using a passive volume control in line with the satellite speakers, the signal going to the SA1 must also pass through the volume control. The Boston Acoustics LZ1 adapter (available separately) converts the speaker level signal into a preamp level signal for connection to the SA1 amplifier. (See diagram below) For more information on wiring the Boston LZ1 to your SA1 amplifier, please consult the LZ1 owner's manual. Using the Voyager Sub12 subwoofer with a passive external volume control For tips on determining an optimum location for the Voyager subwoofer, read the Placement / Location Tips found on page #5. Warning: Due to the weight of the Voyager subwoofer, do not perform the installation of the Voyager subwoofer alone. Power drill with screwdriver attachment · NOTE: When installed, the Voyager subwoofer should not be in direct contact with the joists or decking. Using a pencil or chalk, mark the location where the bracket is to be positioned both on the subwoofer and on the joists. (See diagram #1) The L-brackets are designed to fit in the bracket channels (BC) located on the sides of the cabinet. Mount the brackets to the enclosure with the provided screws, making sure the brackets are tight against the cabinet. Once the brackets are installed on the Voyager subwoofer, secure the subwoofer to the joists under the deck in the predetermined location. After the system is checked, use nonconductive silicone to seal the area in and around the binding posts. This will help to prevent any corrosion that can occur when bare copper wire is exposed to the elements. Secure the wire to the deck to prevent it from being stretched, being pulled, or vibrating against the cabinet. Note: If the Voyager subwoofer's brackets are removed or repositioned, fill any unused screw holes in the Voyager Sub12 with caulk or silicone to ensure that the cabinet's airtight seal is maintained. [. . . ] please read the SA1 Power Amplifier manual for information on setting the levels. Prolonged or repeated operation of your subwoofer with a distorted signal can cause damage that is not covered under warranty. attn: Customer Service 300 Jubilee Drive Peabody , MA 01960 USA Or contact us via e-mail at: support@bostonacoustics.
