Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Maintain a minimum distance of 2" (50mm) around the front, rear, and sides of the apparatus for sufficient ventilation. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings or placing on or around the apparatus items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. Either the power inlet connector on the rear of the apparatus or the power plug at the wall must remain accessible, to be able to disconnect power from the apparatus. [. . . ] Connect the supplied power cord to the power input on the SoundWare Sub amplifier panel. Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet or some other dedicated power outlet. Do not use an extension cord unless it is a very heavy duty cord intended for high power applications. Do not use a multi-outlet power strip or surge protector unless it is capable of handling high power levels. If a heavy duty power strip or surge protector is used, do not connect any other components to it. Plug it into an appropriate power outlet Plug it into an appropriate power outlet Set the Power switch to ooff and turn Set the Power switch to and turn other other system components off all o all system components before making connections before making anyany connections Never connect the SoundWare Sub power cord to an auxiliary power outlet on another component. These power outlets do not provide adequate amounts of power, or the proper isolation required. Warning: Connecting the SoundWare Sub to an inappropriate power source increases the risk of fire and damage to the system components. The audio signal from the system goes in to the Line In connector on the SoundWare Sub amplifier panel. In some systems that signal will come from a surround sound processor or an A/V receiver that has a dedicated subwoofer or LFE output. In other systems the signal will come from the preamp output of a conventional stereo component. Use a single RCA cable (not supplied), as shown, to connect your digital receiver's LFE subwoofer output to the SoundWare Sub Line In connector. The signal from a subwoofer or LFE output has been filtered so it contains only very low frequency sound. In this type of system the audio adjustments are controlled by the receiver or sound processor. Some of the adjustments you should set include: subwoofer On/Off - Be sure the subwoofer output is turned on. If you cannot get enough bass from the Sub, adjust this control to a higher setting. Connecting to Preamp Outputs If the electronics in your system does not have a subwoofer or LFE output you can connect the SoundWare Sub to a preamp output. You'll need a Y-adapter (not supplied) to combine the left and right preamp outputs. Connect a single RCA cable (not supplied) from the Y-adapter to the Line In of the Sub. After you have made all the system connections, turn on the power switch of the SoundWare Sub. When the Sub is connected to a power outlet it will light red to indicate Standby status, or green to indicate the amplifier is on. If there is no audio signal input the amplifier goes into Standby mode after a few minutes. [. . . ] All wiring connections should be inspected and cleaned or remade at least once a year. If a problem does occur, make sure that all connections are properly made, secure and clean. In the event that your speakers ever need service, contact your local Boston Acoustics dealer or visit www. Boston Acoustics warrants to the original purchaser of the SoundWare Sub that it will be free of defects in materials and workmanship in its mechanical parts for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.
