[. . . ] The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings or placing on or around the apparatus items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. For more information on the BT or any other Boston products, please contact Boston Technical Support at 1. [. . . ] Sometimes these standing waves create "null points", where less bass is heard. By adding a second subwoofer and placing it asymmetrical to the 1st, you eliminate the null point because the null of one subwoofer will almost never be the same as the null of the other subwoofer. In the latest digital formats, bass information is recorded not just in the front channels, but also in the side and rear channels. You can enhance the impact of any BT system, and the realism of the cinema experience, by adding rear or side subwoofer channels. The installation versatility of the BT1100 makes it easy to fit multiple subwoofers into almost any room. Most systems will use one of the "line level in" jacks on the BT1100. These inputs accept the line-level signal from your receiver's or processor's subwoofer output. The Bypass input is designed to accept a summed low frequency signal from the LFE or subwoofer output on a receiver or processor. this input bypasses the BT1100's crossover , relying on the bass management circuitry in the receiver or processor. This connection is most commonly used with Dolby Digital or DTS receivers and processors. Connect a single RCA from the LFE or subwoofer output on your receiver to the LFE input on the BT1100 (see diagram #1). Refer to the section on setting the crossover for more information on proper tuning of the lowpass crossover. This connection is most commonly used with Dolby Prologic or Stereo only receivers and processors. Connect a single RCA from the subwoofer or main output on your receiver or processor to the crossover input on the BT1100 (see diagram #2). ** LFE (bypass) Input: Bypasses internal crossover; for use with LFE or subwoofer output using bass management in your receiver or pre-amp. ** LFE (bypass) Input: Bypasses internal crossover; for use with LFE or subwoofer output using bass management in your receiver or pre-amp. The speaker level input allows you to integrate the BT1100 to a system that does not have a specific subwoofer or line-level output. As the speaker level signal is full range, you will need to use the lowpass crossover built into the BT1100. Refer to the section on setting the crossover for more information on proper tuning of the lowpass crossover. This connection is most commonly used with Dolby Pro logic or Stereo only receivers and processors that do not feature a subwoofer or line-level output. NOTE: Certain receivers use speaker grounding circuits that may be incompatible with external powered audio products. This incompatibility can sometimes result in an audible hum when the receiver is turned off or switched to a different speaker channel. [. . . ] As a starting point, set the crossover control on the subwoofer about 10Hz higher than the lower limit of your main speakers' bass response. When using the BT speakers as the mains, start with 75Hz for the BT1 and 70Hz for the BT2. For other Boston Acoustics front speakers, refer to the included Optimal Crossover Settings sheet. Fine tune the crossover setting by ear for the smoothest blend with your main speakers. [. . . ]
