[. . . ] Wave Music System ® Owner's Guide ® A mark of quality Safety Information WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the product to rain or moisture. WARNING: The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on the apparatus. As with any electronic products, use care not to spill liquids into any part of the system. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product unless you are qualified. [. . . ] Note: During a power outage, stored presets are saved in a backup memory system for 48 hours. 4 5 6 TALK RADIO mode Talk radio broadcasts can be greatly affected by either the microphone selection or the boosting of low frequencies by some radio stations. They do so in an attempt to improve speech when heard through conventional radios. In high-quality audio products, this results in sound that is unnatural or bass heavy. By selecting the TALK RADIO mode, your Wave® music system automatically adjusts to compensate for artificially boosted low frequencies. Play Mode When the radio is playing, press Play Mode twice to turn the TALK RADIO mode on or off. Note: The TALK RADIO setting is automatically cancelled when you tune to another station, switch to another source, or turn your Wave® music system off. 10 Playing Compact Discs Playing audio compact discs (CDs) Insert the disc, label side up, into the CD slot below the display. The disc player will automatically pull the disc in and begin playing. ® CD Press CD if the CD source is not selected. Note: NO DISC will be displayed if you press CD when there is no disc in the disc player. · When an audio CD is playing, CD source information is displayed: Selected source Play mode Track number Play / Pause Clock time Elapsed track time Press Play/Pause to pause a playing CD. Press Play/Pause again to resume play. Seek/Track Press Seek/Track to skip to beginning of the current track; press Seek/Track twice to skip to the beginning of the previous track; press Seek/Track to skip to the next track. Press and hold Tune/MP3 < to scan backward quickly through a track; press Tune/MP3 > to scan forward quickly through a track. Tune/MP3 Stop / Eject Press Stop/Eject to stop a CD. If a CD is playing, press and hold Stop/Eject to stop a CD and eject it. Note: When you play a stopped CD it will always resume from the place it was stopped. Note: If you eject a CD but do not remove it from the CD player slot within 10 seconds, the CD player will pull the CD back into the player, reload it, and not play it. CAUTION: DO NOT INSERT mini CDs or non-circular CDs into the disc player. These discs may not play properly and could interfere with the system's ability to eject them. CD Play Modes Play Mode While a CD is playing, you can change the way it is played. Press Play Mode repeatedly until the play mode you want is displayed: · NORMAL PLAY Plays tracks once in sequential order. · SHUFFLE RPT Repeats all tracks in a random order that changes each time the disc is repeated. · REPEAT DISC Repeats the disc from the beginning after the last track is played. Note: The play mode will return to NORMAL PLAY whenever a CD is inserted. 11 Playing Compact Discs Playing music file (MP3) CDs Your Wave® music system can play MP3 music files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. You can easily navigate through your music files using the Tune/MP3 and Seek/Track remote control buttons. Note: MP3 is a music compression technology that reduces a song's file size without noticeable effect in the quality of the sound. Through compression algorithms, the MP3 format makes it easy for you to store many times the number of songs you would find on a conventional audio CD. In fact, an MP3 CD can contain as much music as ten standard audio CDs on just one disc, which can then be organized into folders on a PC before being stored on the disc. [. . . ] Do not use any liquid cleaning solutiuons, solvents, chemicals, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. CAUTION: Do not allow liquids to spill into any openings in the enclosure. Call Bose® Customer Support as soon as possible to arrange for service. See the list of phone numbers inside the back cover. Replacing the remote control battery WARNING: Keep the remote control battery away from children. [. . . ]
