If it is absolutely necessary to use an extension cable, make sure that it is suitable for 16A and has a socket with an earth connection. € If the safety fuse fitted in the appliance blows, the appliance will be rendered inoperative. To restore normal operation the appliance will have to be taken to an authorised Technical Service Centre. [. . . ] € Turn the temperature control dial down and wait until the iron has cooled down. € Turn the temperature control dial regulator to a higher position and wait until the operating indicator switches off. Getting ready (1) (2) (3) (Model dependent) The “Secure” auto shut-off function switches off the iron when it is left unattended, thus increasing security and saving energy. After plugging in the appliance, this function will be inactive for the first two minutes in order to give the appliance time to reach the set temperature. Alter such time, if the iron is not moved for 8 minutes while in the upright position or 30 seconds while resting on its soleplate or on its side, then the safety circuit will switch the appliance off automatically and the pilot light will start flashing. Ironing without steam Only when the temperature control dial is placed in the areas with the steam symbol. Ironing with steam (Model dependent) If the temperature is set too low, the steam is automatically switched off to avoid dripping. (Model dependent) The “e” steam setting (energy saving “e” setting: 24% energy saving*) can be used for most fabrics. The steam settings should only be used on thick fabrics where there are still wrinkles. Steam setting e Proenergy (Model dependent) You are recommended to start by ironing a small area on the reverse of the garment, to ensure that the iron setting is correct. To fit the fabric protection cover to the iron, fit the tip of the iron inside the tip of the fabric protection cover and press the lower section of the fabric protection cover until you hear a click. To remove the fabric protection cover, pull on the rear tab and remove the iron. The protective cover can be purchased from After-sales or specialist outlets.
