[. . . ] Benshaw RediStart MicroII True Current Ramp Control Option Manual Addendum 890002-10-00 Introduction: The True Current Ramp option has been designed to provide high performance control by utilizing an improved current feedback signal. The optional Benshaw Active Rectifier Board is used to provide a highspeed and precise current feedback signal to the MicroII control cards. [. . . ] To indicate the presence of the optional Benshaw Active Rectifier Board, the enhanced control loop mode jumper (pins 5-12 on JC11 of the microprocessor card) must be inserted (closed). Note: If the jumper is not correctly installed then the True Current Ramp setup submenu will not be displayed. Using the True Current Ramp Mode: The True Current Ramp mode is set up and used in the same manner as the standard Current Control or True Torque Control modes. Therefore all the standard starter parameters such as current or torque ramp parameters, motor parameters, CT Ratio settings, motor protection setting etc. Please refer to the appropriate RediStart Micro II instruction manual for more information. Additional Menu Parameters: Under the "Starter Setup" menu there is an additional submenu "True Current Ramp" Under the "True Current Ramp" submenu the following additional parameters exist. Enable TCR (Enable True Current Ramp Mode) Parameter Description This parameter selects one of two control loop feedback configurations Parameter Values Off -> Original control loop using the standard current measurements for current feedback. On -> Enable True Current Ramp mode using the Active Rectifier Board for current feedback. Off page 1 of 3 Parameter Default p/n 890002-10-00 ARB Resolut (Active Rectifier Board Feedback Resolution) Parameter Description This parameter indicates to the RediStart Micro II starter which version of Active Rectifier Card is installed in the system. Note: It is very important that this parameter is set correctly before operating system. [. . . ] Active Rectifier Board Connections Active Rectifier Board Micro II Power Card Input Signal TB1-1 (CT signal L1) Add to TBP4-1 (TBP4-1 should have one existing wire coming from the CT and one new wire connecting to the Active Rectifier Board) TB1-2 (CT signal L2) Add to TBP4-3 as above TB1-3 (CT signal L3) Add to TBP4-5 as above TB1-4 (Common) Add to TBP4-2 (depending on the method of CT wiring there may or may not be an existing CT wire located at this terminal) Feedback Signal TB2-1 (Feedback signal) TB2-2 (Feedback common) Power Connection TB3-1 (+ 24VDC) TB3-2 (common 24VDC ) TBP13-2 TBP13-3 TBP2-2 (or +24VDC from other installed option card) TBP2-1 (or 24VDC common from other installed option card) Note: The feedback signal and power connections should be kept as short as possible and made with twisted pair wire in order to reduce stray noise pickup. If possible, the four CT feedback wires should also be twisted together to reduce stray noise pickup. p/n 890002-10-00 page 3 of 3 [. . . ]
