An alternate method would be to use a USB adapter and an inline RS232 to RS485 interface. When installed the PC software will activate the plug and play, NEW HARDWARE FOUND. With the NEW Found Hardware box displayed on the screen select "Install Hardware Driver". Select "Search for suitable driver for my device", press NEXT button. If the CD is the "D" drive, the following file should be selected "d:\serial port adapter\drivers\ Window 2000, XP for PCI, PCMCIA\qserbrd. inf", press NEXT button.
