[. . . ] Crossover: If the LED lights up from top to bottom (1&2, 3&6, 4&5, 7&8), the cable is wired in a straight-through configuration. If the pairs are crossed, the LED will not light up from top to bottom; it will light up in a different order depending on how the pairs are crossed. For RJ45 cables that have only 2 pairs (4 conductors) wired please refer to the LED guide printed on the remote terminator. In those applications only 2 of the LEDs will need to illuminate green to indicate a good cable. For shielded cable, you may test the shielding by pushing the GND (Ground) button on. The pair LEDs and GND LED should all illuminate green except for pair 3 & 6. If any LEDs illuminate green first and red afterwards or do not illuminate, the shielding is bad.
