[. . . ] > Press the Voice guidance button in the settings menu. The Voice guidance settings window appears. Notice: The data transmission via your mobile phone may involve additional costs depending on the mobile phone contract. because no mobile phone network is available for a longer period of time, then the system switches over automatically to TMC until a connection to the server is possible again. • Volume You can select the standard volume for voice announcements for each start of the Navigation device, or switch off voice announcements completely. • Interior noise level With the Interior noise level button, you can adjust the speed-dependent volume control. To do this, select the interior volume level suitable for your vehicle. With the Dynamic setting (selected models), the interior noise is measured with the aid of the integrated microphone, the volume is then continually adjusted depending on the noise level. Notice: If the announcements of you navigation device are too loud at high speed, you should select a quieter interior noise. If the announcements are too quiet, you should select a louder interior noise. The following setting options are then available: • Voice You can select the voice that will make the navigation announcements for the language that has been set. 75 >>> NAVIGATION MODE • Announce streets Using the Announce streets button you can switch the announcement of the names of streets into which you are to turn on ( ) or off ( ). • Announce time of arrival Using the Announce time of arrival button you can switch the automatic announcement of the expected arrival times on ( ) or off ( ). Note: The Announce streets and Announce time of arrival functions are only supported by speakers with the TTS function. Setting the Voice In the Voice settings window you can set the voice that will make the navigation announcements for the language that has been set. Setting the Volume With the Volume settings window, you can set the standard volume for voice announcements for each start of the Navigation device, or switch off voice announcements completely. Depending on the situation, this setting can be fitted into the map display. Note: Voices with a (TTS) tag support the textto-speech function (e. g. > Confirm your selection by pressing the button. > Select the desired volume with the and buttons or the scroll wheel. > The voice output can be switched off completely or turned back on by pressing the Mute button. > Confirm your settings by pressing the button. 76 NAVIGATION MODE The Warnings button In the Warnings settings window you can select which warnings are to be displayed by the Navigation device or which warning sounds are to be output. • Driver alerts (depending on the model) >>> • Environmental zones (depending on model) You can have signs displayed, for example for dangerous curves or steep gradients, provided this information is stored in the map data. • Speed info You can select whether speed limits are displayed in parallel to the navigation. You can also receive an audible warning about exceeding the speed limit. • Speed camera warnings* You can receive a warning about permanent speed checks. Note: There is no standardised rule in Europe on the use of this function (warning about speed checks). In Germany, for example, it is an offence to use this function while driving. You can let yourself be warned about environmental zones.
