Dino-MITETM v1. 0 User's Instructional Guide 1. 0 INTRODUCTION: Dino-MITE was created as a sort of bridge for the user wishing to dig into the lower-level functionality of Pleo. Not to say that this program allows direct access to low level functions, rather it gives the user a visual layout of what is potentially accessible through the COMM port. Dino-MITE offers many of the same diagnostic functions used by the UGOBE development staff. These features make troubleshooting code, manipulating Pleo in ways previously unintended, and shadowing resources (to name a few) more feasible to the user. [. . . ] Refer to section 4. 0 STATIC SCRIPT SD CARD PREP on page 4 for more information. Using the Joint Manipulator in the CSV Creator, you can also manually position/aim Pleo's. Regardless, an SD Card should be used for capturing or the data will be stored in Pleo's own internal flash memory, and all of a sudden retrieving your captures will become much more difficult. 8 ©2008 BAUER Independents Ltd. Dino-MITETM v1. 0 User's Instructional Guide - Before capturing, enter a filename you wish to give the picture in the Filename Text Box, and suffix it with the ". bmp" extension, or use the default and the names will auto-increment after each capture. Open: The display is intended to only exhibit bitmaps previously captured from Pleo's camera. 6. 3 IR MODULE: - The IR or Infrared Module contains all the commands that refer to Pleo's infrared transceiver located in his nose. Watch: Monitors IR parameters in real-time. 6. 4 JOINT MODULE: - Simply put, the Joint Module enables control and monitoring of Pleo's joints. By resting the mouse cursor over any of the buttons in question, it will reveal what, if any, arguments are expected in order to properly execute the command. - It is recommended that an SD card containing the "Static" (or comparable) script be inserted into Pleo. Refer to section 4. 0 STATIC SCRIPT SD CARD PREP on page 4 for more information. Angle: Position selected joint to a specified angle. 9 ©2008 BAUER Independents Ltd. Dino-MITETM v1. 0 User's Instructional Guide Move: Move selected joint to a specified angle; return fast. Target: Move selected joint to a target position in an allocated amount of time. Dump: Saves joint parameters to a file. 6. 5 MOTION MODULE: - The Motion Module allows direct manipulation of motions related to Pleo. The user can access Pleo's internal bank of motions, force them to execute, and alter their playback speed. CSV Toggle: Prints motions in . csv format in the Terminal Window Load: Returns a motion handle from Motion ID Text Box. Motion Speed Slider: Sets the motion playback speed for all motions Pleo plays the default being 100%. Increasing the percentage accelerates the motions, while decreasing retards them. NOTE: If using LifeOS 1. 1, changes made to motion speed may only be exhibited during manual playbac k. 6. 6 SENSOR MODULE: - The Sensor Module enables control and monitoring of Pleo's sensors. By resting the mouse cursor over any of the buttons in question, it will reveal what, if any, arguments are expected in order to properly execute the command. Show: Prints list of all sensors and their parameters. Set Level: Sets the selected sensor's level. 10 ©2008 BAUER Independents Ltd. Dino-MITETM v1. 0 User's Instructional Guide Set: Sets the selected sensor's parameters. 6. 7 SOUND MODULE: - The Sound Module is. . . Enter the ID of the corresponding sound you wish to play into the text box. Volume Slider: Sets the playback volume percentage for all sounds coming out of Pleo - 100% being the default. Increasing the percentage amplifies the volume, while decreasing diminishes it. [. . . ] In such a case, the start frame should be one frame greater than the last frame of the preexisting transition file. A starting frame value of "0" also tells the scripter to include the required . csv header. - Enter the starting frame ("0") in the red text box just to the left of the "Start" capture button. - Enter the ending frame in the red text box just to the left of the "End" capture button.
