[. . . ] If no macros are available for those fixtures, the option will not do anything. (press ML Menu again) Option A "Flip" is described in section 3. 5 on page 117. Option B "Calculator" displays a screen on the VGA monitor allowing you to convert numbers from decimal to hex or to binary. If you are not using a VGA monitor, this option will apparently do nothing, but you will need to press Exit to get the console back to normal mode. Option C "Remove from programmer" allows you to remove from the programmer fixtures which are selected. This can be useful if you have changed a fixture you didn't want to include in a memory just select the fixture, then use this option. Option G "Load into programmer" loads the values of selected fixtures into the programmer. This can be useful if you are in "Record by Channel" mode but want to record all the fixture settings. If Palette values have been used to set the fixture, the absolute values are stored rather than a reference to the palette entry. 3. 11 Viewing the console output The on-board display shows you the output level of all the channels which are turned on, but only channels 1-50 fit on the display. To show channels 51-100, press the Fixture Page button again (the light on it flashes). You can select which attributes you are looking at by pressing one of the attribute buttons. The channels shown refer to the console channels (handle numbers), not the DMX channel. So if you have a fixture patched on handle 10, you can view the intensity of the fixture by pressing "Dimmer" and looking at the output for channel 10, or the pan-tilt settings by pressing "Pan Tilt" and looking at the output. The VGA display shows a similar "stage view" screen, but shows all the attributes for each type of fixture that is patched. You can select the fixture type you are viewing using the left-right cursor arrows. If you have more than 10 of one type of fixture, the up-down cursor arrows let you page through them. You can also select "Intensity", which shows the output intensity of each fixture or dimmer. An example display is shown on page 3 of the tutorial manual. S2000MAN. DOC 23/08/99 18:39 Page 124 - 3. Using shapes - Page 125 CHAPTER FOUR 4. Using shapes This chapter contains: Selecting a shape; changing the size and speed of a shape; spreading a shape across multiple fixtures; editing shapes which are running; fan mode. The Sapphire, in common with other Avolites consoles, has a shape generator. This allows you to quickly create exciting light shows using lots of movement and changes, with the minimum of programming. A shape is simply a sequence of values which can be applied to any attribute of a fixture. [. . . ] Area of the console that can replay recorded Memories or Chases using Playback Faders. The 100 faders across the top of the console which are used for controlling individual fixtures or dimmer channels. Desk mode in which programming functions are enabled, but System Software is protected. The part of the console which contains Channel information which has been changed by the user, prior to recording. [. . . ]
