Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect disassembly can cause electric shock when the appliance is subsequently used. [. . . ] Note>> If you do not install a 9V (1604) alkaline or carbon-zinc battery, any disruption to the mains power supply will result in a loss of your OGM announcement, any recorded messages, and your Security Code. The OGM announcement and Security Code will revert to the factory default 5 settings. Connecting the Power Ada ptor Only use an adapter with "Class 2 "power source 9V 200mA Insert the plug of the power adapter into the Jack at the back of the answering unit and connect the adaptor to the mains power supply. ANSWER ON-OFF / STOP Button will turn to ON and lighted, if not, please press the Button to turn ON and lighed. The unit will have a sound and the Display(15)will flash "00"and "--" repeats this sequence until the clock and OGM has been set. Note>> If the battery is installed incorrectly or exhausted, then "bL" is added to the display. If you do not want to be disturbed by incoming calls whilst you are setting up the unit, it may be desirable at this stage to set the Clock Day / Time stamp and your own Out Going Message (OGM) before following the connection procedure Connecting to the Telephone Line 1. Plug one end of the TELEPHONE LINE CORD into the jack at the back of the answering system marked TO TEL. Plug the other end of the TELEPHONE LINE CORD into a modular telephone wall jack. Connecting your Telephone Plug the line cord from your existing telephone into the jack at the back of your answering system marked TO TEL. MACHINE RESET CAUTION :IF you press machine RESET, unplug the unit from the telephone line and power adaptor If the system does not record messages or otherwise malfunctions, press the machine RESET button on the bottom near the battery door of the base, pointed instrument such as a pencil. CAUTION : When you press machine RESET, the time / Security code setting and any messages stored in memory are deleted even if a battery is installed. ??ANSWERING SYSTEM SET UP Bilingual English / French Setting Slide the ENG / FRE switch on bottom of the units to select for day and time stamp in English or French. To record or change OGM for ANSWER-RECORD mode It is important that you record your Outgoing Message (OGM) before operating the answering system. Try to keep your announcement brief (under 30 seconds) as this maximizes the recording time available for incoming messages. Press and hold the OGM button, the Displays will show `Ar' and you will hear a long beep 2. Still hold the button and start recording your OGM announcement speaking clearly towards the microphone (16) from approxim ately 6 - 8 inches. The maximum record time is 30 seconds at which point you will hear a double beep and recording automatically stops and the unit replays your announcement. Release the OGM button to end the recording if your announcement is under 30 seconds. NOTE : Default announcement as "Hello please leave your message after the beep. " Will be used for OGM if you did not record yours OGM announcement before. To check your OGM announcement Press and release the OGM button, your announcement is replayed and the Display shows `Ar'. To record or change your OGM2 for ANSWER-ONLY mode To record OGM2 when answering machine is set for answer-only mode while memory full, incoming messages will not recorded 1. [. . . ] Press " SKIP" or "REPEAT" button to increment or decrement the digit. If no key is pressed within 8 seconds, setup procedure will be aborted. You can also press and hold the REPEAT button to check security code . (If you forget to turn your unit ON, the unit will be answer after 10~15 rings) 3. [. . . ]
